- • Design, build, and maintain data marts across three core domains: Conservation Effectiveness, Finance, and Human Resources, using fact/dimension modeling principles.
- • Develop and manage data ingestion pipelines to extract and load data from Workday and the Conservation Hub into a shared data lake for analytical use.
- • Collaborate with Data Governance teams to ensure data assets are properly registered in master data management systems and data catalogs.
- • Gather and document business requirements for new data attributes in partnership with Analytics, Data Governance, and end users.
- • Implement data access controls and apply masking techniques to protect sensitive information in compliance with organizational policies.
- • Produce comprehensive data structure documentation tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- • Provide production support for data systems, troubleshooting issues and resolving incidents as assigned.
- • Serve as Project or Technical Lead on assigned initiatives, creating realistic project plans, estimating timelines, and guiding team members through complex technical challenges.
- • Apply advanced SQL techniques including window functions, subqueries, and multi-layered many-to-many joins to transform and analyze complex datasets.
- • Utilize Python with data-focused libraries such as PySpark and Pandas to automate data processing, transformation, and validation workflows.
- • Leverage Databricks for data ingestion, curation, and pipeline orchestration in a cloud-based analytics environment.
- • Ensure all data engineering activities adhere to TNC’s methodology and development best practices.
- • Conduct peer reviews and act as a final quality assurance analyst for moderately complex data engineering deliverables.
- • Participate in agile software development and operational support cycles as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team.
- • Maintain alignment with organizational mission to support data-driven decision-making for global conservation, financial, and HR initiatives.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and three years of experience in programming and systems design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- • Three years of experience in data engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- • Five or more years of experience in SQL, including advanced topics such as window functions, subqueries, and traversing multiple layers of many-to-many joins.
- • Two or more years of experience working with financial general ledger data.
- • Three or more years of experience in Python using data-focused packages (PySpark, Pandas, or similar).
- • Three or more years of experience in fact/dimension modeling.
