📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end design and evolution of Airalo’s global data platform, ensuring it scales to serve millions of travelers across 200+ countries and regions. You will architect resilient, cloud-native pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data in near real-time, powering everything from customer analytics to fraud detection and dynamic pricing.
• • Lead complex data architecture discussions with engineering, product, and analytics stakeholders spread across 50 countries. Translate ambiguous business questions into concrete technical requirements, then deliver pragmatic solutions that balance speed, cost, and long-term maintainability.
• • Build and maintain production-grade data pipelines using modern tools such as dbt, Apache Spark/Flink, and cloud-native warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift). Implement comprehensive CI/CD automation, observability frameworks (metrics, logging, distributed tracing), and data-quality gates to guarantee freshness, accuracy, and completeness.
• • Champion data governance, privacy, and security best practices across all initiatives. Define schemas, lineage, and access policies that satisfy GDPR, CCPA, and telecom-specific regulations while enabling self-service analytics for non-technical users.
• • Mentor data engineers and analysts through pair-programming, design reviews, and brown-bag sessions. Foster a culture of continuous learning by documenting tribal knowledge, creating runbooks, and encouraging experimentation with emerging technologies.
• • Partner with cross-functional squads to deliver high-impact data products—think real-time usage dashboards for customer support, predictive models for churn reduction, or automated A/B testing infrastructure for pricing experiments.
• • Optimize compute and storage costs by tuning warehouse configurations, implementing incremental processing patterns, and leveraging spot instances or serverless execution where appropriate.
• • Contribute to the strategic technology roadmap, evaluating new tools (e.g., lake-house architectures, stream-processing frameworks) and making build-vs-buy decisions that align with Airalo’s growth trajectory.
• • Work in an async-first, remote environment where clear written communication is critical. Produce concise RFCs, post-mortems, and decision logs that allow teammates in opposite time zones to contribute effectively without synchronous meetings.
