- • Own the data lifecycle: From ingestion to insight, you will create resilient, automated ETL/ELT pipelines that handle both real-time event streams and massive batch loads, ensuring 99.9 % uptime for Hyatt, Hilton, and other global hospitality leaders.
- • Champion data quality: Implement self-healing data validation, anomaly detection, and alerting systems that surface issues before stakeholders notice them, turning raw, messy source data into pristine, analytics-ready assets.
- • Enable self-service analytics: Build intuitive feature stores, curated marts, and semantic layers so product managers, marketers, and executives can answer their own questions in minutes—not days—using Looker, Tableau, or SQL.
- • Drive cost and performance optimization: Continuously tune storage formats (Delta Lake, Iceberg), compression, and compute clusters to cut query latency by 50 % and cloud spend by 30 % while supporting 10× data growth.
- • Foster a data-driven culture: Partner with engineering, product, and finance to define KPIs, instrument new products, and run A/B tests that prove the ROI of every hot-air-balloon ride or truffle-hunting experience we launch.
- • Automate everything: Embed DataOps best practices—CI/CD for data, infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, containerized micro-services—so releases are repeatable, auditable, and reversible.
- • Flex into data science: When the business needs predictive models for demand forecasting or dynamic pricing, roll up your sleeves and prototype in Python or PySpark, then productionize alongside the ML team.
- • Mentor future builders: As an early data hire, you will shape hiring standards, craft onboarding playbooks, and set the technical bar for the next wave of engineers who will scale the platform to millions of daily events.
- • Stay curious: Evaluate bleeding-edge tools (serverless Spark, Flink, DuckDB, dbt Mesh) and run proof-of-concepts that keep Way two steps ahead of the competition in the $1.5 trillion global experience economy.
