  • • Elliptic Enterprises Limited is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a unique opportunity to significantly influence our DevOps culture, drive the adoption of cutting-edge automation technologies, and deliver tangible impact across our engineering organization. We are looking for a proactive individual who possesses a deep understanding of DevOps principles and a proven track record of implementing them in complex, fast-paced environments. If you are passionate about building resilient, secure, and efficient systems, and enjoy taking ownership of initiatives from inception through to successful delivery, this role is for you.
  • • As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping our platform strategy and fostering a culture of reliability, security, and efficiency. You will collaborate closely with a team of talented and passionate engineers who are not afraid to tackle challenging problems and embrace innovation. At Elliptic, openness is a core value, and we encourage our engineers to challenge conventional thinking and discover novel solutions to complex customer problems. Your role will be pivotal in evangelizing DevOps, security, and reliability engineering principles, empowering engineering teams to become high-performing units, and enabling the development of robust, high-performance cloud-native applications.
  • • Your responsibilities will span across all layers of the technology stack, providing senior-level DevOps expertise and leadership. You will be responsible for provisioning resilient infrastructure across multiple regions and availability zones, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities. A key focus will be on building compliant, reliable, and feature-rich developer platforms, with a strong emphasis on container orchestration using Kubernetes. You will enable Continuous Delivery and Deployment (CD) capabilities through sophisticated CI/CD pipelines and GitOps tooling, streamlining the release process and reducing time-to-market.
  • • Furthermore, you will champion the 'shift-left' security and testing methodologies, integrating security and quality checks early in the development lifecycle. You will facilitate progressive delivery strategies in production, allowing for controlled rollouts and rapid rollback capabilities when necessary. Measuring and improving developer productivity and experience across the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) will be a critical aspect of your role, ensuring our engineers have the tools and environments they need to be effective.
  • • Cost optimization of infrastructure will be a continuous effort, achieved through rightsizing resources and creating ephemeral, on-demand environments for development and testing. You will proactively monitor system health, security, and reliability using advanced Observability tooling, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Application Performance Monitoring (APM), tracing, infrastructure metrics, logs, and dashboards. A significant part of your role will involve engineering away toil, automating repetitive tasks and processes to free up engineering time for more strategic initiatives.
  • • We are looking for individuals who act like owners, taking full responsibility for their decisions and their impact. You will see challenges as opportunities for growth and innovation, and you will be driven by a desire to enable our customers to achieve their mission. Openness in sharing successes, failures, and learnings is highly valued, as is a commitment to continuous testing, learning, and improvement. Your ability to contribute to a collaborative and innovative engineering environment will be key to your success in this role.
  • • The ideal candidate will have extensive production experience with a wide array of technologies. This includes deep expertise in Kubernetes, understanding its cluster lifecycle, API, Operator pattern, Helm charts, and core components from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) landscape. You should be proficient in writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform against AWS and GCP, with a strong grasp of internal and external modularization, multi-environment branching strategies, state manipulation, and version management. Experience provisioning cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP through Kubernetes controllers like Crossplane, ACK, or KRO is essential.
  • • You will also have experience building cloud-native container and serverless applications within distributed architectures on Kubernetes, including the use of Service Meshes such as Istio, Linkerd, or App Mesh. Crafting Helm charts for packaging and deploying application stacks into production environments is a core requirement. Delivering applications and infrastructure continuously using CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions, and implementing GitOps with tools like Argo CD or Flux CD, will be central to your daily work. Troubleshooting and debugging applications across microservices and serverless architectures using Observability tools like Splunk or Datadog is also expected. Managing ephemeral secrets and credentials with HashiCorp Vault and implementing least-privileged access to cloud resources using Teleport or similar solutions are also key areas of expertise.
  • • Bonus points will be awarded for experience in architecting, provisioning, and testing strategies for multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments, as well as advanced multi-cluster Service Mesh capabilities. Experience developing Kubernetes Operators, working with OSS API Gateways and Ingress controllers, and software engineering in high-level languages like Go, Java, JavaScript, or Python are highly desirable. Exposure to distributed software architecture in high-volume production scenarios, working with Data Mesh or Big Data technologies (EMR, Spark, Databricks), and designing, tracking, and testing to Service Level Objectives (SLOs) using Chaos Engineering are also valuable. Experience implementing Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP), including tracking Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), is a plus. Finally, knowledge of the cryptocurrency domain and experience running currency daemons or integrating provider APIs would be a significant advantage.
