- • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps and Platform Engineers by setting technical priorities, supporting hiring, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of ownership and engineering excellence.
- • Own and evolve the Kubernetes platform including cluster architecture, deployment standards, autoscaling, reliability, security practices, and developer experience across AWS EKS environments.
- • Improve CI/CD and GitOps workflows using Argo CD or Flux and Helm/Kustomize to make deployments safer, more repeatable, and accessible for engineering teams.
- • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, security, and operations teams to align infrastructure improvements with business objectives and product roadmaps.
- • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the software delivery lifecycle, platform operations, and production support processes to enhance system throughput and team efficiency.
- • Strengthen platform security through access management, secrets management, network controls, compliance requirements, and implementation of secure-by-default practices.
- • Build and enhance proactive observability systems using tools like Datadog, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, ELK, or Opsgenie to monitor metrics, logs, alerts, SLOs, and drive incident investigation and post-mortem improvements.
- • Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives by analyzing infrastructure usage, providing actionable recommendations, and improving efficiency across AWS services including EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Lambda, and CloudFront.
- • Participate in production on-call rotations for critical incidents while continuously reducing operational toil through automation and system hardening.
- • Design and implement disaster recovery plans, backup strategies, and production fire drills to ensure high availability and resilience of the cloud infrastructure supporting 4.5 million users.
- • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform/Terragrunt and ensure infrastructure-as-code is version-controlled, auditable, and scalable.
- • Maintain deep expertise in Linux systems and TCP/IP networking to troubleshoot complex production issues and optimize network performance and security.
- • Implement and enforce secrets management and credential rotation practices to safeguard sensitive data and comply with enterprise security standards.
- • Contribute to the evolution of the global cloud infrastructure that supports 280 IoT devices, mobile and desktop apps, and server systems serving 150,000 installers across 180 countries.
- • Ensure uptime and reliability of infrastructure critical to the safety of users and their property, where system failures directly impact physical security and emergency response capabilities.
- • Promote a collaborative, flexible, and common-sense corporate culture focused on engineering excellence and meaningful impact on global safety.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Cloud Engineering, including 2+ years in a lead or senior ownership role
- • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (preferably AWS EKS), including cluster operations, networking, autoscaling, workload reliability, and security best practices
- • Solid AWS experience with services including VPC, IAM, EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, Route 53, Lambda, Load Balancers, CloudFront, and S3
- • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/Terragrunt and GitOps workflows using Argo CD or Flux with Helm/Kustomize
- • Strong Linux and TCP/IP networking knowledge with proven ability to troubleshoot production systems
- • Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, ELK, or Opsgenie for metrics, logs, alerts, and SLOs
