Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end design and evolution of Genesis’ cloud infrastructure, translating the company’s low-code, high-performance vision into an AWS estate that is secure, observable, and self-healing. You will architect multi-account topologies, landing zones, and guardrails that allow 100+ engineers to ship dozens of releases a day without ever touching a console.
- • Build and harden the CI/CD backbone that powers every commit from idea to production. You will extend our GitHub Actions monorepo workflows, Jenkins pipelines, and Gradle build-cache infrastructure so that a 10-million-line Kotlin/Java codebase compiles, tests, and deploys in under 15 minutes. Expect to introduce canary, blue-green, and feature-flag strategies that let product teams experiment safely at the speed of financial markets.
- • Automate everything that can be automated. You will author Terraform, CloudFormation, and Pulumi modules to spin up ephemeral dev environments on demand, create Kubernetes operators that scale microservices from zero to thousands of pods in seconds, and write Python/Go tooling that surfaces cost, security, and performance anomalies before humans notice them.
- • Champion SRE culture and observability. You will instrument services with OpenTelemetry, define SLIs/SLOs that map directly to customer outcomes, and build Grafana dashboards and Alertmanager policies that wake the right person at 3 a.m.—and only when it matters. Post-incident reviews are blameless and always end in actionable runbooks.
- • Secure the platform like a bank, because our clients are banks. You will embed IAM least-privilege policies, Secrets Manager rotation, network segmentation, and container image scanning into every pipeline stage. Quarterly pen-tests and SOC-2 evidence collection should feel like a one-click report, not a fire-drill.
- • Mentor and level-up a distributed DevOps guild. You will pair-program with junior engineers, run weekly brown-bags on topics like “Kubernetes under the hood” or “Cost-aware architecture,” and create internal certification tracks that turn curious backend developers into confident platform owners.
- • Collaborate across product, security, and customer-success teams to translate regulatory requirements (PCI-DSS, GDPR, CFTC) into technical controls. When a trading client needs a dedicated VPC in Singapore with sub-millisecond latency, you will deliver the design, run the bake-off, and hand over a fully documented runbook.
- • Continuously optimize for cost and carbon. You will right-size EC2 fleets, adopt Graviton and Spot where it makes sense, and build charge-back models that make every team accountable for their cloud bill—while still hitting 99.99 % availability targets.
- • Participate in an on-call rotation that is humane and data-driven. Pager load is measured and reduced every quarter; when you do get paged, you have the tools and authority to fix it fast and prevent recurrence.
- • Evangelize Genesis’ engineering brand. You will speak at meetups, publish blog posts on “Scaling low-code platforms with Kubernetes,” and contribute upstream to open-source projects that we rely on, such as Argo CD, Crossplane, or BuildKit.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years designing and operating production-grade AWS or GCP environments at scale, including multi-account strategy, IAM, VPC, KMS, and cost optimization.
- • Expert-level proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (operators, CRDs, admission webhooks, CSI drivers), plus Helm or Kustomize templating.
- • Deep experience building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and Jenkins for JVM ecosystems (Gradle, Maven, Artifactory) with automated security scanning and policy gates.
- • Strong coding skills in at least one language (Python, Go, Kotlin, or Java) to create CLI tools, operators, and infrastructure tests that live alongside application code.
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on with Terraform or Pulumi, experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare), and contributions to CNCF or other open-source communities.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first culture with flexible hours and a quarterly stipend to outfit your home office or co-working space.
- • Annual learning & conference budget (USD 3,000) plus paid certification days for AWS, Kubernetes, or FinOps credentials.
- • Equity in a high-growth scale-up that is redefining how capital markets build software, with transparent valuation updates every six months.
- • 30 days PTO, local holidays, and a “no meeting Friday” policy to protect deep-work time and work-life balance.
