- • Serve as a strategic advisor to the office of the CFO in private equity-backed portfolio companies, focusing on finance strategy and process improvements including capability and maturity assessments, operating model design, and technology optimization roadmaps.
- • Lead end-to-end engagements to enhance financial processes across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and FP&A functions, driving efficiency, cost reduction, and improved shareholder value.
- • Design and implement KPI dashboards and tracking tools to enable data-driven decision-making and forward-looking financial insights.
- • Manage multiple concurrent client engagements, ensuring project timelines are met, client expectations are managed, and course corrections are executed as needed.
- • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives at portfolio companies and representatives from private equity sponsors.
- • Conduct financial and operational assessments to identify transformation opportunities and recommend actionable improvements aligned with PE value creation theses.
- • Drive the design and implementation of finance automation initiatives and technology deployments to modernize finance functions.
- • Assist in business development by identifying growth opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and contributing to the expansion of Accordion’s European footprint.
- • Sponsor and lead internal initiatives to strengthen practice capabilities, knowledge sharing, and team development within the London office.
- • Travel extensively across Europe to support client engagements and deliver on-site consulting services.
- • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture rooted in client service excellence.
- • Operate with an entrepreneurial mindset in a flat, fluid organization, balancing hands-on project execution with strategic leadership responsibilities.
- • Communicate complex financial and operational concepts clearly to senior stakeholders, raising critical issues proactively to senior leadership when necessary.
- • Maintain deep expertise in strategic finance best practices and the unique dynamics of the private equity consulting environment.
- • Leverage strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to develop client-ready deliverables, presentations, and analytical models.
- • Demonstrate a strong client service mindset, prioritizing exceptional outcomes and long-term client partnerships.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 12+ years of relevant professional experience in a client-serving role at a top-tier accounting or financial advisory firm, or a senior-level mix of client service and private industry experience
- • Proven track record of managing multiple complex client engagements simultaneously, including managing dynamics with both clients and internal teams
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA is a plus
- • Subject matter expertise in financial business processes including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and FP&A
- • Extensive experience designing and implementing finance transformation strategies, including automation and technology deployment
- • Demonstrated experience working with private equity firms and understanding of PE portfolio company dynamics
