📋 Description

• Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle for Crusoe’s multi-billion dollar AI data center campuses, serving as the ultimate point of accountability for delivery, budget, and quality.
• Drive strategic execution of large-scale industrial infrastructure projects from raw land acquisition through site entitlement, municipal negotiations, and final commissioning.
• Act as the primary executive representative to government officials, utility executives, and community leaders to secure critical infrastructure approvals and entitlements.
• Anticipate and mitigate macroeconomic, regulatory, and technical risks that could delay project timelines or increase capital costs, ensuring speed-to-market remains a competitive advantage.
• Oversee complex EPC contracts and manage master project budgets for massive capital outlays, maintaining strict fiscal discipline across all phases of development.
• Collaborate with internal teams of construction managers, engineers, and external consultants to deliver high-density AI infrastructure in uncharted development environments.
• Navigate the full pre-construction gauntlet including CEQA/NEPA environmental processes, utility interconnect agreements, and zoning entitlements for industrial energy infrastructure.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on operational rigor, pathfinding, and execution excellence within a vertically integrated energy and AI infrastructure company.
• Manage financial and contractual stewardship of large-scale capital projects, ensuring alignment between engineering requirements, project finance structures, and construction law.
• Serve as the strategic architect for Crusoe’s flagship AI campus developments, translating corporate vision into physical infrastructure that powers the world’s most ambitious AI workloads.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services to align development timelines with operational and technological needs.
• Maintain executive-level visibility and influence with C-suite and Board members, providing regular updates on project status, risk exposure, and strategic milestones.
• Ensure all development activities comply with legal, environmental, and regulatory standards while advancing Crusoe’s mission of sustainable, energy-first AI infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive leadership in large-scale real estate development with a track record in industrial, life sciences, or energy infrastructure projects
• Deep expertise in navigating pre-construction processes including entitlements, CEQA/NEPA environmental reviews, and utility interconnect negotiations
• Proven ability to influence at the C-suite and Board level, as well as with public-sector stakeholders such as government officials and utility executives
• Mastery of master scheduling and a bias for action in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
• Strong fluency in construction law, project finance structures, and engineering requirements of high-density infrastructure
• Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area
