Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As the first dedicated Staff Product Manager for Monetization at Close, you will own pricing, packaging, billing, and placement to drive growth in a bootstrapped, profitable SaaS company aiming to nearly double its paid customer base by 2027.
- • You will work across three horizons: optimizing the near-term conversion engine (pricing, packaging, checkout, payment methods), building the medium-term AI credit system from scratch, and shaping long-term pricing strategy in an AI-native product-led world.
- • You’ll join the Product Growth team reporting to the VP of Product Growth, collaborating closely with engineering, finance, marketing, sales, and support to ensure monetization initiatives are technically feasible, financially sound, and market-ready.
- • You will define and iterate on AI credit systems, run rigorous experiments to improve free-to-paid conversion and ARPC, partner with engineering on Stripe and legacy billing infrastructure, and serve as the connective tissue between product and go-to-market teams to align on positioning, sales enablement, and customer support.
- • This role offers the opportunity to solve one of the hardest problems in tech—how to monetize AI capabilities—by building scalable, usage-based pricing models that reflect real inference costs while delivering value to SMB customers.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6-8 years of experience in SaaS product management, ideally in B2B SMB, with proven ownership of pricing, packaging, and billing initiatives.
- • Deep familiarity with usage-based billing models and experience working with systems where cost is tied to consumption (e.g., tokens, API calls, AI credits, transactions).
- • Hands-on experience with AI-forward practices, including using AI tools for prototyping, automation, and scaling impact, and strong opinions on how to price AI capabilities given variable inference costs.
- • Proven ability to run rigorous experiments with clear hypotheses, sound instrumentation, and honest interpretation of results to drive conversion and revenue metrics.
- • Demonstrated skill in cross-functional collaboration, capable of building trust with engineering, finance, sales, marketing, and support teams while engaging senior leadership on strategic monetization decisions.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive compensation including an organization-wide goal-based bonus.
- • Generous Paid Time Off: 5 weeks PTO upon joining, plus 2 additional days per year of tenure, and a Winter Holiday Break.
- • Flexible 80% Work Option: ability to work 4-day weeks at 80% pay or standard 5-day weeks, configurable with manager approval.
- • Comprehensive healthcare for US residents (Medical, Dental, Vision with HSA option, Dependent care FSA, and standard FSA).
- • 401k plan with 6% company match and immediate vesting for US residents.
- • Paid parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers, and eligibility for a 1-month paid sabbatical after 5 years of service.
