- • The Senior Director, Energy Project Development leads the execution of Vantage Data Centers’ North American energy development portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with high reliability. This role is critical to supporting Vantage’s mission of powering hyperscalers, cloud providers, and enterprises through sustainable and scalable data center infrastructure.
- • Day to day, the role involves managing and mentoring a team of Project Managers and Coordinators, establishing standardized project management processes, overseeing portfolio-level schedule integration and budget tracking, driving cross-functional alignment across Transmission & Interconnection, Energy Infrastructure, and Commercial teams, serving as the primary escalation point for complex execution challenges, and providing executive-level reporting on project performance, risks, and milestones.
- • Vantage Data Centers is a global leader in data center design and operations, known for delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure across North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. The Energy Group plays a pivotal role in securing and managing complex energy agreements—including utility service agreements, power purchase agreements, and interconnection contracts—to support the company’s data center portfolio.
- • In this role, the individual will develop strategic leadership skills in energy project development, gain deep exposure to large-scale capital project management, influence executive decision-making through data-driven reporting, and drive continuous improvement in execution efficiency, risk management, and portfolio performance—positioning them for senior leadership in energy infrastructure or corporate development.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Legal Studies, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- • 12+ years of experience in energy project development, infrastructure delivery, or large-scale capital project management
- • Strong background in development and execution of renewable (solar, wind, storage) and/or conventional generation and large load projects
- • Proven experience managing complex portfolios and leading multi-disciplinary teams
- • Deep expertise in project controls, including integrated scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management
- • Strong understanding of energy project lifecycle, including interconnection, infrastructure, and commercial integration
- • Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, influencing executive decision-making
- • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, highly ambiguous environments while maintaining execution rigor
