- • Lead and manage a 20-person engineering team and 6-person QA team to deliver high-quality, scalable live-service game experiences for MARVEL SNAP.
- • Serve as the technical visionholder for MARVEL SNAP, guiding the transition from short-term fixes to sustainable, long-term technical solutions.
- • Own the end-to-end delivery pipeline—from planning and development to production and deployment—removing friction to ensure timely, high-quality feature releases.
- • Champion pragmatic engineering decisions by balancing speed and quality, knowing when to prioritize rapid iteration versus robust architecture.
- • Collaborate with Production to evaluate, onboard, integrate, and hold external development partners (xDev) accountable for quality and delivery standards.
- • Define and enforce scalable quality and deployment standards across internal teams and external partners, empowering others to uphold them consistently.
- • Build and maintain a leadership culture where engineers are motivated, supported, and grow; conduct meaningful 1:1s, track individual progress, and create actionable career development plans.
- • Actively participate in hiring processes, including interviewing and onboarding, and remain technically engaged by contributing to code when needed.
- • Ensure today’s engineering decisions enable tomorrow’s innovation by prioritizing scalable systems, maintainable code, and future-proof architecture.
- • Maintain close alignment with the GM of MARVEL SNAP to align engineering strategy with business goals and player experience objectives.
- • Drive adoption of best-in-class tools and workflows that simplify game development and push the boundaries of what’s possible in live-service game engineering.
- • Stay hands-on with core technologies including Unity, AWS, Git, and .NET, providing technical guidance while scaling leadership responsibilities.
- • Iterate on engineering processes to improve team efficiency, reduce technical debt, and enhance cross-team collaboration.
- • Foster a remote-first culture with core collaboration hours between 10 AM and 4 PM PT, ensuring alignment across distributed teams.
- • Participate in company-wide events, including in-person all-hands gatherings and virtual team activities.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience shipping and operating a live-service game
- • Track record of technical management of external development partners or vendors
- • Experience leading an engineering team through the ups and downs of long-term live services games
- • Strong familiarity with Unity, AWS, Git, and .NET
- • Comfortable both setting strategic direction and rolling up your sleeves
