- • As Senior Director, Field Strategy & Enablement at Xenon Pharmaceuticals, you will play a pivotal role in translating corporate strategy into field execution, ensuring alignment between Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Finance to drive revenue performance and operational excellence during a critical phase of late-stage clinical development and impending commercialization of azetukalner for epilepsy and depression indications.
- • You will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of sales enablement programs, training initiatives, and strategic planning processes that directly impact the effectiveness of the field force and support the successful launch and lifecycle management of Xenon’s neuroscience portfolio.
- • You will partner with senior leadership to define annual and quarterly priorities, build operating plans with clear KPIs and milestones, and establish accountability mechanisms that ensure strategic initiatives are executed with rigor and measurable outcomes.
- • You will own the Sales & Marketing operating cadence, including forecasting, pipeline health reviews, and resource allocation, while developing executive dashboards that provide real-time insights for data-driven decision-making across the revenue engine.
- • You will lead the planning and execution of national and regional meetings, ensuring alignment with cross-functional partners and translating marketing strategy into live and virtual training experiences that reinforce brand messaging and sales competencies.
- • You will design, deliver, and measure the impact of sales training and enablement programs — including onboarding, ongoing skill development, and role-based curricula — partnering with Sales and Marketing leadership to define core competencies, methodologies, and performance standards.
- • You will identify and resolve process gaps, inefficiencies, and execution risks across the sales and marketing functions, driving continuous improvement in tools, processes, and adoption to enhance field productivity and customer engagement.
- • You will manage budget planning and execution in alignment with corporate strategy and Finance policies, ensuring fiscal discipline while supporting short- and long-term objectives for the Field Strategy & Enablement function.
- • You will recruit, lead, develop, and coach a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence in accordance with Xenon’s HR policies and commitment to inclusivity and productivity.
- • You will uphold and promote adherence to company policies, including the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, ensuring that all direct reports understand and follow ethical and compliance standards in their daily activities.
- • You will contribute to Xenon’s mission of delivering life-changing neuroscience therapies by enabling the field organization to effectively communicate value, navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, and support patients with high unmet medical needs in epilepsy, depression, and pain indications.
- • You will gain deep exposure to the end-to-end commercialization process in a innovative biopharmaceutical environment, building expertise in pharmaceutical strategy, cross-functional leadership, and operational excellence that will accelerate your impact in senior commercial roles.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree in business (e.g., MBA) preferred
- • 12+ years of combined experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical marketing, sales, or operations
- • Proven track record leading high-performing teams in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated success in driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence
- • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment managing large, complex projects with shared accountabilities
- • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry practices including product positioning, brand planning, market research, launch execution, and commercial operations
- • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical leaders to design and implement enablement curricula that meet business needs
- • Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills (verbal and written) with excellent presentation and time management abilities
- • Proven business acumen, strategic thinking, and solutions orientation with a history of planning, organizing, and executing complex initiatives
- • Highly resilient, achievement-oriented, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments requiring well-founded, timely decision-making
- • Willingness to undertake approximately 15–20% international travel as required
