📋 Description

• As Senior Director of Revenue Accounting at 1Password, you will lead the design and scaling of a best-in-class revenue accounting function to support the company’s rapid growth beyond $400M in ARR, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant revenue reporting under US GAAP while enabling global expansion and increasing deal complexity.
• You will oversee the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting and the Director of Accounting Operations (covering A/R and A/P), reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, and serve as a strategic partner across Sales, Legal, Financial Operations, Data, and FP&A teams to align revenue recognition with commercial objectives and drive operational excellence.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include building and mentoring a high-performing team, ensuring scalable revenue processes and controls, leading monthly close and audit readiness, assessing public company readiness, modernizing revenue systems in partnership with Data and Business Systems, setting DSO/DPO targets, advising on complex deal structuring and sales commission practices, collaborating on non-GAAP metrics like ARR, and advocating for both customer and employee experience in revenue-related interactions.
• You will partner with Sales Operations, Sales, and Legal to provide thought leadership on sales commission structuring that promotes healthy deal practices, while working with FP&A to align on transaction accounting and with Data teams to solidify definitions of key revenue metrics.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior leadership roles in high-growth SaaS or technology companies, with CPA or equivalent certification required.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP revenue recognition, complex SaaS revenue models, and end-to-end order-to-cash strategy, with proven experience scaling revenue accounting processes through rapid growth.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, manage monthly close and audits, drive process automation, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders including Sales, Legal, Data, and FP&A.
