- • Senior EH&S Specialist (R5051) at Shield AI, Inc. is a critical role responsible for ensuring environmental, health, and safety compliance across the company’s operations, directly supporting the mission of protecting service members and civilians through intelligent systems.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing EH&S programs, conducting risk assessments and safety audits, delivering safety training, investigating incidents, ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, etc.), managing hazardous materials, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety into product development and facility operations.
- • Shield AI is a venture-backed deep-tech company founded in 2015 with a mission to protect service members and civilians using AI-powered autonomous systems. The company develops advanced aircraft like the V-BAT and X-BAT, along with Hivemind Enterprise and Vision product lines, and operates globally across the U.S., Europe, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
- • In this role, the specialist will deepen expertise in industrial safety within high-tech aerospace and defense environments, gain experience scaling EH&S programs in a fast-growing organization, influence safety culture at a mission-driven company, and contribute directly to the safe deployment of cutting-edge autonomous systems used in national security operations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field
- • Minimum 5 years of progressive EH&S experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or high-tech industries
- • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant federal, state, and local EH&S regulations
- • Experience developing and managing EH&S programs, including incident investigation, risk assessment, safety training, and regulatory reporting
- • Proficiency in using EH&S management systems and tools for tracking metrics, audits, and compliance
- • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operations, and leadership
