Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the full electrical design lifecycle for high-profile commercial, industrial, healthcare, science & technology, and multifamily projects across North America and Latin America, serving as the Engineer of Record (EOR) and single point of accountability for code-compliant, cost-effective, and innovative electrical systems.
  • • Lead multidisciplinary teams of junior engineers, designers, BIM coordinators, and commissioning agents—translating complex owner requirements into clear scopes, schedules, and deliverables while fostering a culture of curiosity, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
  • • Drive the technical development of power distribution (480/277 V, 208/120 V, 4.16 kV), emergency/standby generation, UPS, clean power, arc-flash mitigation, and renewable-energy-ready infrastructure; produce one-line diagrams, load calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, and arc-flash risk assessments using SKM, EasyPower, or ETAP.
  • • Architect lighting and lighting-control strategies that balance energy codes (ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, Title 24), WELL, LEED, and client brand standards—specifying luminaires, daylight sensors, networked controls, and circadian-tuned systems to deliver measurable occupant comfort and energy savings.
  • • Integrate low-voltage building technologies—fire alarm, mass notification, access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, structured cabling, and wireless infrastructure—into cohesive, scalable platforms that anticipate future tenant needs and cybersecurity best practices.
  • • Coordinate closely with architects, civil and structural engineers, interior designers, and contractors through all phases from concept and DD to CD, bidding, CA, and post-occupancy; lead clash-detection sessions in Revit/BIM 360, resolve RFIs, and conduct site investigations, punch-list walks, and startup/commissioning oversight.
  • • Manage project financials with precision—develop fee proposals, track labor budgets, forecast resource needs, negotiate change orders, and deliver monthly profitability reports that keep studio leadership informed and projects on target.
  • • Champion the evolution of Ware Malcomb’s electrical standards, specifications, calculation templates, and quality-control checklists; conduct internal lunch-and-learns, mentor EITs toward PE licensure, and contribute to technical papers and conference presentations that elevate the firm’s thought-leadership profile.
  • • Cultivate client relationships by participating in pursuit interviews, leading design charrettes, and presenting at project milestone meetings; translate complex engineering concepts into compelling visuals and narratives that secure repeat business and drive revenue growth.
  • • Embrace a remote-first, results-oriented work style while leveraging Ware Malcomb’s network of 30+ offices for in-person collaboration when required; travel up to 25 % for site verifications, client workshops, and industry events across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.
  • • Leverage AI-assisted design tools and data-driven analytics to optimize system sizing, reduce construction waste, and accelerate delivery timelines—always validating outputs with rigorous engineering judgment and ethical oversight.
  • • Uphold Ware Malcomb’s six-time #1 Industrial Sector ranking by ensuring every electrical design reflects best-in-class safety, resilience, and future-ready flexibility that empowers clients to adapt to tomorrow’s technologies today.
