- • Lead comprehensive grid integration studies for large-load facilities within MISO and PJM RTOs to ensure reliable power delivery for AI and high-performance computing data centers.
- • Manage transmission injection processes and conduct load deliverability studies to validate grid stability, capacity, and compliance with regional grid codes.
- • Strategically identify and evaluate Points of Interconnection (POIs) based on evolving business needs, transmission topology changes, and regulatory requirements.
- • Develop and maintain technical models to simulate grid behavior under high-load conditions, ensuring optimal integration of Crusoe’s energy infrastructure.
- • Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and business development teams to draft technical specifications and support proposal development for new facility locations.
- • Navigate complex regulatory frameworks within MISO and SPP to secure timely interconnection approvals and mitigate risks associated with grid access.
- • Advise on grid code compliance, transmission constraints, and capacity allocation processes to ensure scalable and sustainable power delivery for large-scale AI infrastructure.
- • Share technical expertise with team members through mentorship, documentation, and best practice standardization in load interconnection and power system modeling.
- • Proactively monitor changes in RTO rules, transmission infrastructure, and energy market dynamics to anticipate and adapt interconnection strategies.
- • Work cross-functionally to align grid integration timelines with data center construction schedules and AI workload deployment goals.
- • Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and regulatory filings to communicate findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and external entities.
- • Identify opportunities to optimize interconnection pathways by leveraging underutilized transmission assets or emerging grid modernization initiatives.
- • Support due diligence efforts for new site acquisitions by evaluating grid interconnection feasibility, cost, and timeline risks.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving industry standards for large-load interconnection and participate in industry working groups or forums as needed.
🎯 Requirements
- • Master’s degree in Power Systems with 3+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in Power Systems
- • Deep experience in grid planning, system modeling, and grid code compliance studies
- • Strong working knowledge of MISO/SPP transmission topology and load interconnection methodologies
- • Ability to think outside the box to identify POIs that offer the best path to interconnection for large-scale loads
- • Excellent technical report writing and verbal communication skills
