Founded in 2015, we are a venture-backed organization with a global presence, delivering cutting-edge products like the V-BAT and X-BAT aircraft, Hivemind Enterprise, and Hivemind Vision. Our technology is actively deployed worldwide, underscoring our commitment to innovation and impact.
- • As a Senior Engineer, Manufacturing - Material Flow, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and refining the operational backbone of our manufacturing processes. Your primary focus will be on developing and optimizing our warehousing and material flow operations to achieve unparalleled levels of quality, reliability, speed, and asset utilization.
- • This is a hands-on role where you will leverage your expertise in lean material flow principles, advanced data analytics, rigorous problem-solving methodologies, and sophisticated modeling techniques to ensure the seamless, safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of all materials throughout our manufacturing ecosystem.
- • You will be instrumental in designing and implementing innovative material handling strategies, from the initial receipt of raw materials and components to the final delivery of finished goods. This includes optimizing storage methodologies, developing efficient kitting processes, and streamlining the flow of materials between different manufacturing stations and assembly lines.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to analyzing current material flow processes, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and potential risks, and subsequently developing and implementing data-driven solutions to mitigate these issues.
- • You will be expected to create and maintain comprehensive documentation for material flow processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices, ensuring consistency and adherence across all operations.
- • This role requires a proactive approach to continuous improvement, actively seeking opportunities to enhance material flow efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall manufacturing throughput.
- • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Engineering, to ensure that material flow strategies align with broader manufacturing and business objectives.
- • A key aspect of your role will involve developing and utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of material flow operations and identify areas for further optimization.
- • You will be involved in the design and layout of warehouse spaces and manufacturing floor areas to maximize efficiency and safety, considering factors such as accessibility, storage density, and material handling equipment.
- • You will also contribute to the selection and implementation of material handling equipment and technologies, ensuring they are appropriate for the scale and nature of our operations.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on a rapidly growing company, contributing directly to our mission of delivering advanced technological solutions.
- • You will be a key contributor to building a robust and scalable manufacturing infrastructure that supports Shield AI's ambitious growth trajectory.
- • Your work will directly influence the speed at which we can produce and deliver our critical systems, ultimately impacting our ability to serve our customers and achieve our strategic goals.
- • We are looking for an individual who is passionate about operational excellence, possesses a strong analytical mindset, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- • This role is based in Dallas, Texas, offering a chance to be part of a vibrant and growing tech hub.
- • You will have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the manufacturing team.
- • Your insights and recommendations will be highly valued, providing a direct line of influence on strategic decisions related to manufacturing operations.
- • We encourage innovative thinking and expect you to challenge the status quo, proposing novel solutions to complex material flow challenges.
- • Ultimately, your success in this role will be measured by your ability to create a highly efficient, reliable, and cost-effective material flow system that underpins Shield AI's manufacturing success.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, with a specific focus on material flow, logistics, warehousing, or industrial engineering.
- • Proven experience in applying lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to optimize material flow and reduce waste.
- • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python for data analysis) and experience in developing and interpreting KPIs.
- • Experience with simulation or modeling software for material flow analysis and optimization is highly desirable.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and equity package.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- • Generous paid time off and holidays.
- • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
