- • Syneos Health, a leading fully integrated biopharmaceutical solutions organization, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Corporate Finance team. This role is pivotal in accelerating customer success by translating unique clinical, medical affairs, and commercial insights into tangible outcomes that address modern market realities. As part of a global team of 29,000 employees across 110 countries, you will contribute to our vision of 'Shortening the Distance from Lab to Life®'.
- • The Senior Financial Analyst will provide critical financial analysis support to the Clin Pharm Bioanalysis business unit. This includes in-depth analysis of operating results and active participation in special projects, ensuring financial health and strategic alignment.
- • A core responsibility involves building, refining, and maintaining a predictive revenue burn model specifically for the Clin Pharm and Bioanalysis portfolio. This requires analyzing historical project burn patterns across hundreds of studies to accurately determine expected monthly revenue realization.
- • You will be instrumental in consolidating manual Excel-based data from revenue recognition teams, transforming it into a unified and robust backlog forecasting framework. This process is essential for accurate financial planning and resource allocation.
- • The role demands a keen ability to evaluate the timing and magnitude of revenue for studies at various lifecycle stages, from startup through mid-study and near completion. This granular analysis ensures that revenue forecasts are realistic and actionable.
- • A significant aspect of the role is identifying expected revenue that may not be realized due to contract buffer overages and proactively adjusting forecasts accordingly. This proactive approach mitigates financial risks and optimizes revenue capture.
- • You will actively assist in the annual budgeting process, contributing to the creation and/or review of budget versus actual numbers, ensuring financial targets are met and variances are understood.
- • Close collaboration with business finance, operations, revenue recognition teams, and senior leadership is essential to gather the necessary data and insights for comprehensive financial analysis.
- • You will partner with the Sr. Director of Business Finance to refine, validate, and socialize forecasting outputs, ensuring buy-in and understanding across key stakeholders.
- • A key objective will be to standardize data collection processes and improve the overall quality and consistency of manual Excel inputs, laying the groundwork for more automated and reliable financial reporting.
- • You will be expected to recommend enhancements to existing forecasting processes and tools, driving continuous improvement in financial operations.
- • Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of forecasting data and models is paramount to the success of this role.
- • You will assist in researching inquiries regarding actual versus budget variances, providing clear explanations and actionable insights to managers.
- • Participation on cross-functional teams will be required as needed to drive financial measurements and achieve desired financial results.
- • The role includes providing support to the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) function as requested, which may involve financial modeling, due diligence follow-up, and documentation preparation.
- • Performing special projects as assigned will be a part of the dynamic nature of this position, offering opportunities to contribute to various strategic initiatives.
- • This position operates within a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment. The role is largely sedentary, requiring the ability to maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods and operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Occasional movement within the office and between locations is expected. The role also involves frequent communication with colleagues via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- • The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key contributor to Syneos Health's commitment to fostering a culture where employees can thrive, develop, and advance, ensuring valuable benefits and a quality-of-life balance are maintained.
