- • The Senior Financial Analyst - Grants provides financial and compliance analysis along with post-award administrative support to College of Science principal investigators, enabling effective resource allocation and regulatory adherence across six academic departments, seven institutes, and 17 research centers.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing research funding portfolios, generating monthly financial and payroll reports, developing financial projections, ensuring compliance with federal and university regulations, managing grant transactions, maintaining project records, and mentoring junior analysts.
- • The role operates within Northeastern University’s College of Science, a research-intensive academic unit supporting diverse scientific inquiry through robust financial stewardship and administrative excellence.
- • The analyst will deepen expertise in higher education grant management, federal compliance (Uniform Guidance), financial forecasting, and university systems like Banner, while developing leadership and mentorship capabilities through training and process improvement initiatives.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree required (Finance or similar major preferred)
- • Minimum of 4 years of professional work experience in higher education and/or business setting
- • Accounting and finance knowledge with ability to work with budgets
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational, prioritization, and time management abilities
- • Familiarity with federal grant administration is desired
