  • • As a Senior FinOps Account Manager at CloudZero, you will be at the forefront of empowering customers by merging your expertise in data analysis with a genuine passion for customer success. This role is pivotal in guiding clients through their unique FinOps journeys, providing them with critical cost intelligence observations and facilitating insightful conversations about the drivers and solutions for cost growth. You will act as a trusted advisor, consulting on a wide array of financial and operational topics, from intricate resource usage with engineering teams and strategic tagging initiatives with operations, to understanding Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) with finance departments and analyzing unit cost trends with executive leadership. Your ability to navigate these diverse discussions seamlessly, all while maintaining a holistic view, is key to success.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will be dynamic and customer-centric. You will spearhead ongoing strategic customer segment onboarding and implementation initiatives, adeptly addressing ad hoc requests that arise. A significant aspect of your role will involve mentoring, coaching, and training fellow FinOps Account Managers (FAMs), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and enablement within the team. You will be instrumental in forming and maintaining robust, strategic relationships with key customer personas, providing leadership and domain expertise to build credibility with senior management. A core function includes effectively communicating the value delivered by CloudZero and diligently monitoring performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which involves conducting periodic executive business reviews to showcase progress and impact.
  • • You will serve as the primary Customer Success ambassador, acting as a crucial liaison between the customer and our product, engineering, and go-to-market teams. Collaborating closely within the Customer Success team and cross-functionally, you will drive initiatives, foster innovation, share insights, and champion the customer's voice to inform product development and business strategy. Introducing new products and features will be a regular part of your role, along with championing the business outcomes process to ensure customers are realizing maximum value. You will be tasked with solving complex customer and vendor issues, proactively identifying and preventing negative service trends before they impact the client. Furthermore, you will build and meticulously monitor customer adoption metrics, aiming to achieve best-in-class Net Promoter Score (NPS) results.
  • • Your strategic contributions will extend to supporting retention and expansion efforts for the strategic customer segment, specifically focusing on clients with Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) exceeding $300k. You will be responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining the operational and design effectiveness of internal customer controls, ensuring a robust framework for financial management. A key deliverable will be the development of repeatable and scalable technical solutions that can be codified into playbooks or runbooks, tailored to factors such as customer size, roadmap, and specific requirements. You will lead joint success planning workshops, conduct in-depth analysis, and provide support for internal initiatives, projects, and products aimed at enhancing company tools like CZOPS and other critical capabilities. Finally, you will establish and uphold high standards for data analysis, presentations, and explanations, ensuring clarity and conciseness for both internal and external stakeholders, thereby solidifying CloudZero's reputation for insightful and actionable FinOps guidance.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3+ years of experience consulting on AWS, GCP, and/or Azure services/solutions.
  • • 3+ years of experience in a Customer Success Manager, FinOps Account Manager, or related role.
  • • FinOps certification required (e.g., Introduction to FinOps, FinOps Certified Practitioner, FinOps Certified Engineer, FOCUS Certification).
  • • Hold at least one AWS, GCP, and/or Azure certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner).
  • • Expertise in understanding spend/resource reservations across various clouds and the benefits/limitations of tagging/labeling strategies.
  • • Ability to analyze complex datasets in Excel using advanced concepts (v-lookups, index matches, pivot tables) and experience building BI dashboards (e.g., Quicksight, Looker, Domo, Tableau).
  • • Expert in authoring SQL.
