- • As a Senior Front End Engineer at Gorgias, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Conversational Commerce by building the user-facing interfaces that power intelligent, seamless interactions between brands and customers. Your work will directly impact how ecommerce businesses engage with their audiences through AI-driven chat, email, and social channels, making every conversation feel personal, efficient, and on-brand.
- • You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and backend teams to translate complex user needs into high-performance, accessible, and visually refined frontend experiences that scale across global markets and high-traffic environments.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- • Partnering with Product and Design to architect and implement clean, responsive, and lightning-fast user interfaces that solve real customer pain points in the helpdesk and messaging platforms.
- • Optimizing frontend applications for speed, scalability, and reliability across diverse browsers and devices, leveraging modern bundling strategies (Vite, Webpack/Rspack), caching techniques, and CDN configurations to ensure sub-second load times even under peak traffic.
- • Writing maintainable, testable TypeScript and React code following industry best practices, while advocating for pragmatic trade-offs that balance development velocity with long-term system health and performance.
- • Participating actively in agile development cycles, including sprint planning, daily standups, code reviews, and retrospectives, to continuously improve team velocity and code quality through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.
- • Contributing to frontend architecture decisions by advising on API design, state management patterns (e.g., React Query), and component reusability, ensuring alignment with inversion of control principles and the testing pyramid for robust, scalable applications.
- • Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence by sharing expertise in modern CSS, UX principles, design systems, and frontend performance profiling tools.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience building complex web applications using TypeScript and React in production environments.
- • Deep proficiency in the modern frontend toolchain, including bundlers (Vite, Webpack/Rspack), test runners (Jest/Vitest), CI/CD pipelines, and performance optimization techniques for high-traffic applications.
- • Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable React applications using composition patterns, reusable components, and modern state management libraries such as React Query.
- • Strong understanding of browser APIs, CDN behavior, caching strategies, and frontend performance metrics (e.g., LCP, FID, CLS) to ensure optimal user experience across devices and network conditions.
- • Experience collaborating with backend engineers to inform API design and data fetching strategies, demonstrating full-stack awareness without requiring backend implementation ownership.
- • Familiarity with testing principles including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, and a commitment to upholding the testing pyramid in daily development practices.
