Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of Woven City’s flagship web applications—from ideation and architecture through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement—ensuring every line of code advances Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company.
  • • Architect and implement scalable, secure, and performant full-stack solutions that power a living laboratory where residents, visitors, inventors, and autonomous systems interact seamlessly with next-generation mobility services.
  • • Lead hands-on development across TypeScript/React front ends and Go/TypeScript back ends, crafting responsive UIs, robust APIs, event-driven microservices, and resilient data layers that handle real-time city-scale traffic, logistics, energy, and social data.
  • • Translate complex product requirements into clear technical specifications, scope epics, identify dependencies, estimate effort, and drive sprint planning in close collaboration with product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers.
  • • Champion code quality through rigorous testing strategies—unit, integration, contract, e2e, and chaos—while establishing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) that enable daily, zero-downtime releases to production.
  • • Serve as the primary incident commander for production issues, orchestrating rapid root-cause analysis, hot-fixes, and post-mortems that feed directly back into architectural improvements and SLO definitions.
  • • Design and evolve cloud-native infrastructure on AWS/GCP using Kubernetes, Docker, serverless functions, and managed data stores (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Kafka) to guarantee 99.9 % uptime under unpredictable city-scale loads.
  • • Automate operational excellence by building self-healing systems, observability dashboards (Prometheus, Grafana), and alerting playbooks that empower on-call rotations to resolve issues before residents notice.
  • • Continuously optimize performance—lazy-load bundles, split code, cache strategically, tune queries, and profile services—to deliver sub-second experiences on mobile, tablet, and in-vehicle displays across Tokyo’s diverse network conditions.
  • • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, architectural decision records, and onboarding guides that accelerate knowledge sharing and uphold security, privacy, and compliance standards.
  • • Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and brown-bag sessions, cultivating a culture of craftsmanship, experimentation, and inclusive collaboration.
  • • Contribute to the broader Woven by Toyota engineering community by open-sourcing reusable libraries, presenting at internal tech talks, and participating in guilds focused on accessibility, sustainability, and mobility innovation.
