📋 Description

• Own features end-to-end, from designing API endpoints and database migrations to implementing React UIs and data visualizations, and managing monitoring and on-call support for production systems
• Build and harden integrations with third-party ad platforms including Meta, Google, and TikTok, designing for reliability despite uncontrollable external APIs
• Evolve and modernize a production Flask + React application serving hundreds of customers, making incremental architectural improvements while maintaining continuous shipping
• Design and build data-rich user interfaces including charts, dashboards, and interactive tools that help marketers interpret complex causal inference results from marketing experiments
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and data engineers to translate statistical outputs into intuitive, actionable product experiences for customers
• Use AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Cursor daily to accelerate delivery, generate boilerplate, explore solutions, and ship features that would otherwise take weeks in days
• Participate in on-call rotation and take full ownership of the operational health, performance, and reliability of systems you build
• Review code across the engineering team and help set standards for quality, clarity, and maintainability in a mature codebase
• Work in a high-output, low-ego environment where pragmatic tradeoffs between refactoring and shipping are prioritized over rewriting systems from scratch
• Contribute to technical direction for product areas, making architectural decisions that scale with team and product growth
• Drive cross-team initiatives by coordinating changes across multiple services or repositories and managing sequencing of complex dependencies
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and leading by example to raise the overall technical bar of the team
• Operate effectively with ambiguity, taking loosely defined problems, breaking them down, building execution plans, and driving them to completion with minimal oversight
• Work with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and cloud-native environments (GCP preferred), deploying, monitoring, and operating services in production
• Apply strong product sense by focusing on customer needs and outcomes, not just ticket requirements
• Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to scientists, product managers, and engineers to align on priorities and implementation strategies

🎯 Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications and APIs
• Strong full-stack proficiency: ability to build API endpoints, write database migrations, and implement React frontends
• Proficiency in Python and React (or strong equivalents with willingness to ramp); experience with Flask, SQLAlchemy, or similar frameworks is a plus
• Experience working in and improving large, established codebases with pragmatic tradeoffs between refactoring and shipping
• Comfort with cloud-native environments (GCP preferred), including deployment, monitoring, and production operations
• Track record of integrating AI development tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) into daily workflow to accelerate software delivery
