- • Design, build, and ship production-grade AI-powered workflow management systems that enable operations teams to execute at scale in the single-family rental industry.
- • Develop scalable backend services in Python using FastAPI and Django to aggregate, enrich, and serve large, complex real estate datasets for AI-driven decision-making.
- • Build and refine user-facing product experiences using React and Next.js to make sophisticated data intuitive, trustworthy, and actionable for institutional investors.
- • Own end-to-end development of AI features—from retrieval pipelines and guardrails to backend APIs and frontend interfaces—ensuring reliability, performance, and low hallucination rates.
- • Evaluate and benchmark LLM performance across latency, cost, accuracy, and hallucination metrics to guide technical decisions and product improvements.
- • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and data engineers to translate business needs into durable, scalable technical solutions.
- • Modernize legacy real estate workflows by replacing manual analysis with automated, software-driven insights powered by AI and data pipelines.
- • Improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability as the platform scales, with a focus on production-grade stability and observability.
- • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and shared ownership of team standards and engineering best practices.
- • Contribute to all phases of product development, from ideation and prototyping to iteration and deployment, with maximum agency and tight feedback loops from customers.
- • Make technical decisions for systems at the core of Mainstay’s SaaS platform that directly influence how investors deploy capital.
- • Automate and optimize data workflows using Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL to support real-time analytics and AI inference.
- • Deploy and manage infrastructure on AWS using Terraform to ensure scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud operations.
- • Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation across full-stack components, ensuring long-term maintainability.
- • Work in a remote, highly collaborative environment with clear communication and proactive ownership of ambiguous, high-leverage problems.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software in fast-paced, early-stage startups
- • Proven, hands-on experience developing and deploying production-ready AI features
- • Highly proficient with Python for backend systems and React for frontend development
- • Strong full-stack engineering skills with a backend-first orientation
- • Experience designing, building, and operating scalable backend services for data-heavy, analytics-driven systems
- • Deep understanding of AI/LLM evaluation metrics including latency, cost, accuracy, and hallucination rates
