Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end delivery of high-impact product features that thousands of event marketers rely on to decide where to spend millions of dollars. You will take ambiguous problems (“How do we predict the ROI of a conference that has never happened before?”) and turn them into elegant, scalable solutions that delight users.
- • Architect and ship full-stack features across our React/TypeScript frontend and Python/Django backend, leveraging AWS, MySQL, and Snowflake to handle millions of data points on events, attendees, and outcomes. Your code will directly influence how customers like Shopify, Notion, and Figma allocate their event budgets.
- • Drive critical infrastructure improvements that keep our AI-powered platform fast, reliable, and secure as we 10× our data volume and user base over the next 18 months. Examples include re-designing our event-ingest pipeline, optimizing Snowflake spend, or introducing feature flags for safer continuous deployment.
- • Collaborate daily with product, design, data science, and go-to-market teammates in a tight feedback loop. You will join discovery calls, interpret user pain points, and propose technical trade-offs that balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
- • Lead code reviews and system-design sessions that raise the bar for engineering excellence across the team. You’ll champion best practices in testing, observability, and documentation while mentoring junior engineers and interviewing future teammates.
- • Experiment boldly with new technologies—whether that’s prototyping a Dagster-based data orchestration layer, integrating large-language-model APIs for content generation, or standing up infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Pulumi.
- • Contribute to our remote-first culture by writing clear, concise RFCs, running blameless post-mortems, and maintaining runbooks that let any engineer on-call sleep peacefully at night.
- • Influence the product roadmap by translating customer usage data into actionable engineering initiatives. You will surface insights like “events with fewer than 500 attendees convert 3× better for mid-market SaaS” and then build the dashboards and APIs that make those insights self-serve.
- • Shape our engineering brand externally through tech talks, open-source contributions, and blog posts that share how we solve hard problems at the intersection of data, AI, and events.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building and scaling complex web applications in a modern language (Python, TypeScript, Java, Go, etc.)
- • Demonstrated track record of shipping high-value features end-to-end—from spec to production—within an agile, product-driven environment
- • Proven ability to drive high-leverage infrastructure or process improvements that measurably improve developer velocity or system reliability
- • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable articulating technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- • Nice-to-have: previous startup experience or comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with data engineering, ML pipelines, or DevOps/platform tooling
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a Series A company backed by FirstMark, with a portfolio that includes Shopify, Airbnb, and Pinterest
- • Hybrid work model anchored in our NYC HQ—collaborate in person a few days a week while retaining flexibility to work from home
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plus a 401(k) with company match
- • Annual learning and development stipend, conference budget, and dedicated time for open-source contributions
