đź“‹ Description
- • Ondo Finance is at the forefront of revolutionizing the investment landscape by offering institutional-grade, blockchain-enabled investment products and services. We are a dynamic company with a dual focus: a technology arm dedicated to developing cutting-edge decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions, and an asset management arm that conceptualizes and manages innovative tokenized funds. Our pioneering work includes being the first to tokenize exposure to U.S. Treasuries, and we have since broadened our offerings to encompass a variety of other assets. Furthermore, we are actively involved in incubating protocols designed to support both tokenized real-world assets and traditional cryptocurrency markets.
- • Founded by a team with deep expertise from Goldman Sachs' Digital Assets Team, Ondo Finance is backed by a distinguished group of investors, including Founders Fund, Coinbase Ventures, Pantera Capital, and Tiger Global. We have established ourselves as leaders in the market, evidenced by our significant Assets Under Management (AUM), and are strategically well-capitalized to fuel our continued growth.
- • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fund Accountant to play a pivotal role in bolstering and leading our accounting and financial reporting functions for Ondo’s diverse tokenized products, including OUSG, USDY, and OGM. This critical position will assume ownership of substantial aspects of our daily accounting operations, month-end and quarter-end close processes, audit support, and the development of our accounting system infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with the Controller to strategically scale the accounting function and ensure its robustness.
- • This is a role that demands a high level of responsibility within a rapidly evolving and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for meticulous detail, a proven ability to manage intricate transaction flows, and the capacity to exercise sound judgment in novel or ambiguous situations. Crucially, this individual must be capable of stepping in to provide oversight of the accounting function when necessary, demonstrating leadership and adaptability.
- • **Portfolio & Trade Accounting:** You will be instrumental in overseeing the daily Net Asset Value (NAV) validation and reconciliation processes across our various product structures. This includes reviewing and accurately booking high-volume trade activity executed through both broker and on-chain systems. A key responsibility will be performing and meticulously reviewing cash, position, pricing, and corporate action reconciliations. You will also support the accurate allocation of management fees, servicing fees, and operational expenses. A significant part of this role involves proactively investigating and resolving any discrepancies or breaks in close coordination with the Investment Operations and Engineering teams, ensuring data integrity and operational efficiency.
- • **Financial Close & Reporting:** You will own critical components of the monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion. This involves preparing and reviewing journal entries, ensuring they are supported by comprehensive and appropriate documentation. You will be responsible for reconciling subledgers to the General Ledger (GL) and conducting thorough variance analysis to identify and explain any deviations. Furthermore, you will assist in the preparation of financial statements and investor reporting packages, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards. Your role will also involve supporting the enhancement of reporting standards to meet the requirements of external audits and public disclosures, contributing to transparency and compliance.
- • **Audit, Controls & Regulatory Support:** You will take the lead in preparing audit support schedules and will coordinate directly with external auditors, serving as a key point of contact. A vital aspect of this role is strengthening our documentation standards and internal control processes to ensure a robust control environment. You will actively support evolving reporting requirements, including enhanced audit procedures and SEC-facing disclosures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will also play a role in formalizing our monthly close, review, and control checklists, standardizing procedures for greater efficiency and reliability.
- • **Systems & Infrastructure:** You will play a central role in the implementation and ongoing configuration of our accounting system, Geneva. This includes validating data feeds from various sources such as broker platforms, Order Management Systems (OMS), and on-chain data providers. You will be responsible for designing and documenting scalable accounting workflows that can adapt to our growth. Identifying opportunities for automation and actively working to reduce manual reconciliation risks will be a key focus, driving efficiency and accuracy.
- • **Cross-Functional Representation:** You will actively participate in product scoping and execution discussions, particularly where accounting implications are relevant. This involves assessing and clearly articulating the accounting implications of new product features, such as margin trading, derivatives, or structured tokens. You will coordinate closely with Legal, Compliance, Investment Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure that accounting considerations are integrated early in the product design lifecycle, fostering a proactive and integrated approach to financial operations.
