- • As a Senior Global Business Development Manager for Vision Service Plan (VSP), you will drive strategic growth and revenue expansion across the Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan territories by serving as a trusted advisor to network providers and enterprise clients. This role is critical to VSP’s mission of enhancing access to vision care through innovative solutions and deep provider partnerships, directly impacting the company’s market position and long-term sustainability in a competitive healthcare landscape.
- • You will conduct in-depth business diagnostics to uncover growth opportunities within assigned accounts, develop and execute customized business strategies aligned with VSP’s product and service offerings, and act as a cross-functional liaison between sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of value-driven solutions that meet both client needs and corporate objectives.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include: performing strategic consultations with optometry practices and vision care providers to identify pain points and opportunities; designing and implementing tailored business plans that integrate VSP’s technology platforms, clinical programs, and retail initiatives; presenting data-driven insights using Premier performance analytics and benchmarking tools to help clients improve practice efficiency and profitability; introducing new VSP technologies and services into the account base to support digital transformation and retail readiness; cultivating and maintaining long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including practice owners, OD/MD leaders, and industry influencers; monitoring account performance against KPIs to ensure sustainable growth and timely course correction; developing actionable sales plans focused on revenue growth, retention, and account viability; educating clients on evolving vision care trends, reimbursement models, and practice management best practices; representing the customer voice internally to influence product development and service enhancements; maintaining up-to-date expertise on VSP’s full portfolio of vision benefits, network programs, and emerging industry innovations; and operating as an objective, trusted intermediary between VSP and its provider network to uphold service excellence and resolve complex issues with diplomacy and influence.
- • You will join a mission-driven, national leader in vision care that serves over 40 million members and partners with more than 40,000 eye care providers across the U.S. VSP fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and integrity, where employees are empowered to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives through better vision health. The Business Development team operates with high autonomy and cross-functional integration, leveraging deep industry knowledge and consultative selling to drive sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
- • In this role, you will sharpen your strategic consulting, enterprise sales, and healthcare industry expertise while building a powerful professional network within the optical and vision care sectors. You’ll gain mastery in healthcare data analytics, value-based selling, and change management — skills that are highly transferable and in demand across the health tech and medical services industries. Success here positions you for advancement into regional leadership, national account management, or strategic partnership roles within VSP or similar organizations.

- • Proven ability to travel at least 80% of the time to meet with clients across Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan; must reside within one of these three states, with Illinois preferred; clean DMV record required for company vehicle eligibility and travel compliance.
- • Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with demonstrated success in negotiating with C-level executives, practice owners, and multi-stakeholder groups in complex, high-value sales environments.
