📋 Description

• Serve as the Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) responsible for ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, including NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and RMF processes for systems handling Top Secret classified information.
• Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous monitoring of security controls across classified information systems within the UltraViolet Cyber platform environment.
• Prepare and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) in alignment with RMF documentation requirements.
• Coordinate with system owners, security engineers, and IT teams to conduct security control assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing for systems requiring Top Secret clearance.
• Ensure all information systems are accredited and authorized (A&A) through the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) or other federal accreditation bodies.
• Conduct regular security awareness training for personnel with access to classified systems and maintain records of training completion in compliance with DoD directives.
• Monitor and analyze security logs, alerts, and incident reports from enterprise security tools to identify potential threats and ensure timely response and remediation.
• Collaborate with the UltraViolet Cyber security-as-code platform team to integrate automated security controls into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for secure system updates.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving federal cybersecurity policies, threats, and technologies affecting classified government systems.
• Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, inspectors, and government security representatives during formal security reviews and inspections.
• Ensure all system configurations, patch management, and access controls adhere to the latest NSA and CISA guidance for classified environments.
• Document and report security incidents in accordance with DoD Incident Response protocols and coordinate with the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT) as needed.
• Support the development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and standards specific to Top Secret systems within UltraViolet Cyber’s federal contracts.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to design and implement secure architectures for new systems prior to initial accreditation.
• Maintain accurate and auditable records of all security-related activities, including configuration changes, access reviews, and control validations.

🎯 Requirements

• Active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI access
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ISSO or Information Systems Security Engineer in a federal government or defense contractor environment
• Demonstrated expertise in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53 controls
• Experience preparing and managing System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and POA&Ms
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs, NSA cybersecurity guidelines, and DoD cybersecurity policies
