• • As a Senior Network Operations Engineer at Black Mountain Dynamics LLC, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and safeguarding sophisticated network infrastructures for our valued clients. This pivotal role demands a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic foresight, and exceptional leadership, particularly as you support critical accounts like Waymo, where network reliability and security are paramount to autonomous vehicle operations.
• • You will be instrumental in leading network buildouts, from the initial design and planning phases through to the physical "rack and stack" installations. This involves architecting robust Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs), and data center environments, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and security.
• • Your responsibilities extend to the meticulous configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance of a wide array of network hardware and software. This includes routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points from leading vendors such as Palo Alto Networks, Juniper, Ruckus, Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki.
• • A core aspect of this role involves proactive performance monitoring and optimization. You will continuously analyze network traffic, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement strategic solutions to enhance network efficiency, minimize latency, and ensure maximum availability, especially critical for real-time applications like those used in autonomous driving.
• • You will serve as a project lead or a key stakeholder on network deployment initiatives. This requires not only technical execution but also effective project management, including delivering timely and detailed status reports to both internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• • Network protection is a cornerstone of this position. You will be responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive network security solutions. This includes configuring and maintaining firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions, vulnerability management platforms, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) systems to create a multi-layered defense against evolving cyber threats.
• • As a senior engineer, you will be expected to lead the resolution of the most complex technical issues. This involves deep-dive troubleshooting of intricate network problems, security incidents, and challenging client requests, often requiring innovative solutions and a calm, methodical approach under pressure.
• • You will coordinate and lead incident response efforts for critical security events. This requires working seamlessly with clients and internal security, operations, and engineering teams to swiftly contain, eradicate, and recover from security breaches, minimizing impact and downtime.
• • Proactive threat hunting and vulnerability assessments are crucial. You will actively seek out potential risks and weaknesses within client networks before they can be exploited, employing advanced analytical techniques and security tools to identify and report on vulnerabilities.
• • Serving as a trusted advisor to clients is a key component of this role. You will engage with clients to understand their unique challenges, provide strategic recommendations for network architecture and security enhancements, and be readily available to address their evolving needs and requests.
• • Meticulous documentation and reporting are essential. You will produce comprehensive reports detailing security incidents, threat analyses, network performance metrics, and strategic recommendations. These reports will be vital for client understanding and internal knowledge management.
