📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for Binance’s KYC (Know Your Customer) technology platform using Java and related enterprise technologies.
• Build and optimize high-throughput, low-latency services that process millions of identity verification requests daily across global markets.
• Collaborate with compliance, product, and security teams to implement and enforce regional and international regulatory requirements within the KYC workflow.
• Integrate third-party identity verification vendors and government databases to ensure accurate, real-time authentication and risk assessment.
• Architect and deploy AI/ML-powered components for document verification, facial recognition, and anomaly detection while ensuring adherence to data privacy and regulatory standards.
• Lead code reviews, enforce engineering best practices, and mentor junior engineers to maintain code quality and team velocity.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis and system design to deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Optimize system performance and reliability under high-load conditions, ensuring 99.9%+ uptime for critical KYC services.
• Implement robust logging, alerting, and observability tooling to proactively detect and resolve system failures or compliance deviations.
• Work closely with global compliance teams to adapt the KYC platform to evolving regulations in jurisdictions including but not limited to FATF, AML, GDPR, and local financial authority mandates.
• Contribute to the design and execution of disaster recovery and data integrity protocols to safeguard user identity information.
• Drive innovation by researching and prototyping new technologies that enhance the speed, accuracy, and user experience of the KYC onboarding process.
• Document system architecture, API specifications, and operational procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and regulatory audit readiness.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems and respond to critical incidents affecting KYC operations.
• Ensure all systems are designed with security-by-design principles, including encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control, and secure credential management.
• Translate complex regulatory requirements into technical specifications and collaborate with legal teams to validate implementation accuracy.
• Maintain backward compatibility and versioning strategies for APIs used by internal and external partners integrating with the KYC platform.
• Continuously monitor industry trends in blockchain-based identity solutions and evaluate their applicability to Binance’s KYC infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• Proficient in Java and enterprise backend development frameworks
• Experience building large-scale, high-availability systems for identity verification or financial compliance
• Knowledge of global AML/KYC regulations and compliance frameworks
• Proven track record of integrating third-party identity verification vendors
• Experience with AI/ML systems in production environments for document or biometric analysis
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
