📋 Description

  • • As a Senior/Lead Database Administrator specializing in MySQL, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal performance, unwavering availability, and robust reliability of our client's critical database infrastructure. This role is pivotal in maintaining the smooth operation of platforms that power mobile-first solutions for paratransit, business travel, and transit advertising, connecting operators, regulators, and riders to drive smarter mobility experiences.
  • • Your primary focus will be on the hands-on administration and meticulous maintenance of MySQL servers. This involves building, configuring, and fine-tuning these systems to meet demanding performance standards and ensure continuous uptime. You will be the guardian of data integrity and accessibility, playing a crucial role in the success of our client's innovative mobility solutions.
  • • You will execute a comprehensive suite of routine database administration tasks. This includes implementing and managing effective backup and restore strategies to safeguard against data loss, performing in-depth performance tuning to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, and meticulously optimizing indexing to accelerate query execution. Your expertise will directly impact the speed and efficiency of the client's applications.
  • • A key responsibility will be proactive monitoring of database health. You will continuously assess system performance, identify potential issues before they escalate, and swiftly troubleshoot any performance degradations, slow queries, or system bottlenecks. Your vigilance will ensure a seamless user experience for all stakeholders.
  • • You will be entrusted with the critical task of managing user permissions, implementing stringent security configurations, and upholding data integrity across all MySQL environments. This involves establishing and enforcing access controls and security protocols to protect sensitive information and maintain compliance.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves providing expert MySQL support to both development and operations teams. You will act as a subject matter expert, offering guidance and solutions for their day-to-day database-related needs, thereby facilitating efficient development cycles and smooth operational workflows.
  • • While you will not be involved in the high-level architectural design of the database systems, your practical expertise will be essential in ensuring that the existing MySQL instances are stable, well-maintained, and performant. Your focus will be on the operational excellence and day-to-day health of the database infrastructure, ensuring it reliably supports the client's business objectives.
  • • This position requires a deep understanding of MySQL internals, including how to leverage indexing strategies effectively, apply advanced optimization techniques, and manage replication fundamentals. Your knowledge will be applied to diagnose and resolve complex database performance issues with speed and precision.
  • • You will be responsible for implementing and managing robust backup strategies, executing successful restores when necessary, overseeing database upgrades, and performing essential schema maintenance. Your meticulous approach will ensure data resilience and system evolution.
  • • A solid grasp of database security principles, effective user management practices, and adherence to operational best practices are paramount. You will contribute to a secure and efficient database ecosystem.
  • • The ideal candidate possesses a practical, detail-oriented mindset, with a clear focus on maintaining highly stable and efficient MySQL environments. Your contributions will be centered on operational excellence rather than the conceptualization of full system architectures, ensuring the day-to-day reliability and performance of the database infrastructure.
