Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the North-American regulatory roadmap for Kraken’s expansion: you will be the single point of truth on state and federal policy, translating dense statutes, dockets and commission orders into actionable commercial strategy that accelerates licensing and implementation of the Kraken operating system across utilities.
- • Translate policy into revenue: monitor FERC, NARUC, state PUCs and ISO/RTO filings daily; distil intelligence into concise briefs that inform pricing, product positioning and go-to-market sequencing so that every sales conversation is grounded in the latest regulatory reality.
- • Build bullet-proof value cases: author persuasive memos, slide decks and formal comments that quantify how Kraken’s real-time optimisation, demand flexibility and customer experience modules deliver verifiable savings under rate-recovery rules, grid-modernisation cost caps and climate-mandated investment trackers.
- • Cultivate trust with regulators and policymakers: schedule and lead briefings, workshops and technical sessions with public utility commissioners, commission staff, consumer advocates and governors’ energy offices to position Kraken as a neutral, expert partner in achieving state decarbonisation and affordability goals.
- • Forge alliances that multiply our voice: manage relationships with national and regional trade associations, environmental NGOs, academic centres and think-tanks to co-author white papers, joint comments and panel presentations that shape upcoming rulemakings on DER aggregation, dynamic pricing and grid data access.
- • Partner with client regulatory teams: embed with utility regulatory affairs, rates and legal departments to craft testimony, discovery responses and cost-benefit exhibits that secure timely approval of Kraken deployments; act as an extension of their staff while safeguarding Kraken’s commercial interests.
- • De-risk deals in real time: sit at the negotiating table during late-stage commercial discussions to flag regulatory hurdles, propose deal structures that satisfy prudency tests and design implementation timelines that align with commission procedural calendars.
- • Create a living knowledge base: build and maintain a searchable repository of precedent orders, commission rulings and utility filings that teams across business development, delivery and product can query to self-serve answers and accelerate deal velocity.
- • Influence product priorities: synthesise regulatory trends into quarterly product requirement documents that guide engineering roadmaps on features such as dynamic rates, non-wires alternatives evaluation engines and low-income customer protection modules.
- • Represent Kraken on the external stage: speak at industry conferences (EEI, NARUC, DistribuTECH, RE+), moderate webinars and author op-eds that showcase how software-centric grid orchestration is the fastest path to a reliable, equitable clean-energy future.
- • Mentor rising talent: coach junior policy analysts and rotating commercial associates on regulatory strategy, writing discipline and stakeholder engagement techniques, ensuring the team scales its expertise as Kraken’s footprint grows from dozens to hundreds of utilities.
- • Measure what matters: define KPIs such as days-to-license, commission approval rate and policy alignment score, then report progress to the Head of Regulation & Markets and the North-America GM to enable data-driven resource allocation and prioritisation.
