đź“‹ Description
- • Senior Manager/Associate Director, Access Marketing at Xenon Pharmaceuticals is a strategic role critical to ensuring successful market access and patient access for azetukalner, a late-stage potassium channel modulator targeting epilepsy, depression, and pain indications, with Phase 3 data expected in 2026 and NDA submission anticipated in Q3 2026.
- • This role directly supports Xenon’s mission to commercialize life-changing neuroscience therapeutics by bridging market access, marketing, and sales to drive payer adoption and patient pull-through for a product with significant unmet medical need.
- • Support the execution of pre-launch and post-launch market access strategy and tactical plan for azetukalner across epilepsy, major depressive disorder, and bipolar depression indications, aligning with Xenon’s Phase 3 clinical milestones and anticipated 2026 NDA submission.
- • Lead the development and evolution of a strong product value proposition tailored to payers, population-based decision-makers (e.g., formulary committees), and channel customers, leveraging clinical, economic, and real-world evidence to demonstrate therapeutic and economic value.
- • Lead the creation of patient- and office-facing materials, including educational resources, support program communications, and provider tools, to reduce barriers to access and improve adherence and persistence.
- • Develop and secure internal approvals for access marketing tactics and materials — both branded and above-brand — through PRC review processes, train field account teams on messaging and tools, and establish KPIs to measure campaign effectiveness and market access outcomes.
- • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and HEOR/RWE teams to align real-world evidence generation plans with payer evidence requirements, ensuring data collection supports coverage decisions and health technology assessments.
- • Partner with the Patient Access team to refine office and patient support messaging, identify gaps in support programs, and enhance co-pay assistance, hub services, and benefit investigation resources.
- • Serve as the primary liaison between the Access Marketing team and field account directors, gathering frontline insights on payer objections, channel dynamics, and prescribing behaviors to refine strategy and field enablement tools.
- • Monitor evolving market access landscape trends — including ICD-10 coding, step therapy policies, and payer formulary positioning — to identify risks and opportunities for proactive strategy adjustment.
- • Contribute to payer market research initiatives such as advisory boards, in-depth interviews, and syndicated reports to inform value messaging and access strategy.
- • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders (HEOR/RWE, Market Access Analytics, Patient Access, Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs) and external stakeholders (payers, KOLs, professional societies) to ensure alignment and advocacy.
- • Develop short- and long-term objectives for the Access Marketing function that align with Xenon’s corporate strategy, launch readiness goals, and commercialization timelines.
- • Recruit, lead, coach, develop, and evaluate direct reports (if applicable) in accordance with Xenon’s HR policies, fostering a high-performance, inclusive team culture.
- • Uphold Xenon’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, ensuring compliance and ethical standards are communicated and followed by team members.
- • Participate in up to 20% domestic and international travel as needed for advisory boards, payer meetings, conferences, and field engagements.
- • Perform other duties as assigned to support Xenon’s commercialization readiness and market access excellence.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
- • 3+ years of experience in pharma/biotech market access or marketing (Senior Manager level) or 5+ years (Associate Director level), including US market access launch experience with pharmacy benefit products.
- • Strong understanding of US payer and channel market dynamics, including how MCOs make decisions across commercial and government (Medicaid/Medicare) channels.
- • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines and budgets, and drive high-quality results amid ambiguity.
- • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated ability to interpret data (clinical, economic, claims) to identify trends and inform access strategy.
- • Outstanding oral, written, and presentation communication skills, particularly when engaging senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary with target bonus and stock options as part of Xenon’s Total Rewards program.
- • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, accidental death & dismemberment, and life insurance.
- • Retirement savings plan with company matching contributions.
- • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and travel insurance.
- • Generous time-off policy including vacation, personal days, sick days, and an annual company-wide shutdown for rest and recharge.
- • Tuition Assistance program for advanced degrees and access to an expanding Training, Learning & Development curriculum.
