Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the strategic planning, negotiation, and execution of high-impact direct media buys across digital, print, and emerging channels for Fortune-500 pharmaceutical and biotech clients, ensuring every dollar spent advances patient outcomes and brand objectives.
- • Own the full P&L for a multi-million-dollar portfolio of direct-buy campaigns, forecasting spend, tracking ROI, and presenting performance narratives to C-suite stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
- • Translate complex healthcare data—ranging from epidemiology to competitive intelligence—into audience-centric media strategies that resonate with HCPs, patients, and caregivers while remaining fully compliant with FDA, OPDP, and global regulatory standards.
- • Build and mentor a distributed team of buyers, analysts, and trafficking specialists; set clear KPIs, run weekly stand-ups, and foster a culture of continuous learning where curiosity and accountability drive award-winning work.
- • Partner with Real Chemistry’s AI & Analytics practice to pilot machine-learning bidding models, dynamic creative optimization, and real-time attribution dashboards that push the boundaries of what media can achieve in health communications.
- • Negotiate directly with premium endemic publishers (NEJM, Medscape, WebMD), endemic networks, and programmatic direct platforms to secure first-look inventory, custom content integrations, and value-added placements that elevate brand equity.
- • Serve as the senior escalation point for campaign troubleshooting—whether it’s a creative rejection from MLR, a pixel misfire, or an urgent budget reallocation—delivering calm, decisive solutions that keep launches on schedule.
- • Translate medical, legal, and regulatory feedback into actionable trafficking instructions, ensuring every tag, landing page, and data pass adheres to privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA) and client SOPs.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional squads including creative, strategy, medical affairs, and data science to design omnichannel journeys that seamlessly connect HCP webinars, patient support programs, and unbranded disease education.
- • Present quarterly business reviews to global brand teams, showcasing how direct-buy tactics accelerated script lift, improved patient adherence, or expanded market share—backed by statistically significant data and compelling storytelling.
- • Champion test-and-learn roadmaps that explore emerging channels such as digital out-of-home in medical centers, audio advertising in telehealth waiting rooms, and CTV placements within condition-specific content.
- • Oversee implementation of third-party verification (DoubleVerify, IAS) and custom brand-safety parameters to protect client reputation in an increasingly complex media environment.
- • Contribute to Real Chemistry’s thought-leadership engine by authoring POVs on cookieless future, ID resolution in healthcare, and the convergence of media and real-world evidence.
- • Manage vendor contracts, MSAs, and SOWs with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring favorable terms, clear SLAs, and seamless renewals that safeguard both client and agency interests.
- • Foster inclusive, remote-first collaboration across time zones, leveraging tools like Slack, Asana, and Miro to keep every stakeholder aligned and energized from kickoff to wrap report.
- • Drive DE&I initiatives within media planning—prioritizing publishers and creators that authentically reach underrepresented patient populations and elevate health equity.
- • Stay ahead of FDA draft guidances, PhRMA codes, and platform policy shifts, translating regulatory changes into proactive guidance that keeps campaigns compliant and future-proof.
- • Celebrate wins loudly—whether it’s a 40% cost-per-script reduction or a Cannes Lions shortlist—while conducting blameless post-mortems that turn every setback into shared wisdom.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of direct media buying experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within healthcare or pharmaceutical advertising
- • Proven track record of managing annual budgets exceeding $10M across digital, print, and emerging channels
- • Deep fluency in FDA, OPDP, and MLR processes; ability to shepherd creative through medical-legal review without delays
- • Expert-level proficiency in ad-tech stacks including DV360, MediaOcean, Prisma, and verification tools (DoubleVerify, IAS)
- • Nice-to-have: Advanced certification in programmatic buying (IAB, Google Skillshop) and familiarity with real-world evidence data partnerships
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first culture with quarterly travel stipends for team collaboration and client meetings
- • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and mental-wellness coverage for employees and dependents from day one
- • Annual professional-development budget of $3,500 plus paid time off for industry conferences and certifications
- • Generous PTO policy (20 days minimum) plus company-wide mental-health days and a year-end shutdown
