- • The Senior Manager, Enterprise Apps, Workday Architect leads the design, implementation, and optimization of Workday and integrated HR systems to support Sumitomo Pharma’s enterprise operations, ensuring alignment with IT standards, compliance, and business goals.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include serving as the technical lead for Workday, managing system configuration and deployment across HCM, Absence, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, and Learning modules, overseeing integrations with SAP, payroll, finance, and identity management systems, and ensuring system stability, scalability, and continuous improvement through monitoring and optimization.
- • The Business Applications team is part of IT at Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc., a U.S.-based subsidiary of a global Japanese pharmaceutical company focused on oncology, urology, women’s health, rare diseases, cell & gene therapies, and CNS. The team supports, develops, manages, and enhances enterprise applications that power the company’s business processes.
- • In this role, the individual will gain deep expertise in enterprise HR systems architecture, lead cross-functional initiatives with HR, IT, and Finance stakeholders, mentor HRIS analysts, and drive data governance and compliance efforts—positioning them as a strategic leader in HR technology transformation within a mission-driven pharmaceutical organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Human Resources, or Business Management (Master’s degree preferred)
- • 7+ years of hands-on Workday and HR Applications IT experience
- • Experience integrating Workday with ERP (SAP), payroll, and identity management systems
- • Proven success in project management, system upgrades, and cross-functional collaboration
- • Workday Pro Certification(s) in one or more modules (HCM, Compensation, Reporting, Integrations) is preferred
- • Experience with Workday Extend is desired
- • Proficient in Workday Studio, EIB, and Report Writer
- • Deep understanding of security roles, data governance, and SOX/GDPR compliance

- • Base salary range of $145,300 to $181,600
