📋 Description
- • Avery Dennison is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager, Global Tax Provision to join our dynamic Global Tax Provision team. This is a critical leadership role, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Global Tax Provision and External Reporting, and will be instrumental in driving key global tax provision workstreams. You will also serve as the primary income tax liaison for our operations in Brazil, a significant and complex region.
- • This position is central to ensuring the utmost accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of Avery Dennison's global income tax accounting and reporting processes. You will be at the forefront of managing the intricacies of international tax regulations and their impact on our financial statements, ensuring compliance and optimizing our tax position.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a robust combination of deep technical tax provision expertise, exceptional analytical capabilities, and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. A proven track record of delivering precise and reliable results within high-stakes, deadline-driven environments is essential for success in this role.
- • You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the global tax provision process, including the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, deferred tax assets and liabilities, and uncertain tax positions in accordance with US GAAP.
- • This role involves significant interaction with regional tax teams, including those based in the Netherlands and Hong Kong, as well as business unit finance teams, corporate accounting, and external auditors. Building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across these diverse groups will be a key aspect of your success.
- • You will play a crucial role in the implementation and ongoing management of tax provision software and systems, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of our tax processes.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will involve staying abreast of evolving tax laws and regulations globally, particularly in key jurisdictions like Brazil, and assessing their impact on the company's tax provision and financial reporting.
- • You will lead and mentor junior members of the tax provision team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and high performance.
- • This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating tax risks, as well as exploring opportunities for tax planning and optimization within the framework of global tax laws.
- • You will be involved in the preparation of tax footnotes for SEC filings and other external reporting requirements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
- • The Senior Manager will also contribute to the development and refinement of internal controls related to tax provision processes, ensuring adherence to SOX requirements.
- • You will be expected to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively and delivering high-quality work under pressure.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, with a significant focus on global tax provision (ASC 740) and US international tax.
- • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 740, and experience with SEC reporting requirements.
- • Proven experience managing complex international tax issues, including foreign tax credits, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and Subpart F.
- • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws.
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex information clearly and concisely.
- • Proficiency in tax provision software (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision, CorpTax) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- • Fluency in Portuguese is a significant advantage, given the primary liaison role for Brazil.
