We are seeking a highly experienced and strategically-minded Senior Manager of Sales Engineering to spearhead our Sales Engineering (SE) team, with a specific focus on the West and Central U.S. regions. This pivotal leadership role is designed to drive the scaling of our technical sales efforts, enhance and operationalize our go-to-market efficiency, and define the standard for technical engagement across the entire customer journey, from initial pre-sales discovery through to robust platform proof-of-concepts.
  • • In this capacity, you will be instrumental in owning and scaling the Sales Engineering function across the expansive West and Central U.S. territories. This includes the critical responsibilities of hiring, nurturing, and inspiring a high-performing team of four dedicated Sales Engineers. Your leadership will be key to fostering an environment of technical excellence and continuous professional development. You will collaborate closely with Go-To-Market (GTM) leadership to directly influence top-line revenue growth. This will be achieved through expertly crafted technical engagements, the cultivation of strategic partnerships, and the implementation of streamlined processes designed to accelerate deal cycles and increase win rates.
  • • As a subject matter expert in customer and partner engagement, you will bridge the gap between intricate customer needs, evolving market insights, CloudZero's powerful capabilities, and our ongoing platform innovation. Your ability to connect these elements will be crucial in demonstrating the unique value proposition of CloudZero to a diverse range of stakeholders. A significant part of your role will involve evolving and optimizing CloudZero's Sales Engineering processes and tooling. This is essential to ensure we can effectively support a rapidly scaling SaaS organization, maintaining agility and responsiveness in a dynamic market.
  • • You will foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration, working hand-in-hand with our Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success teams. This synergy is vital for refining our messaging, developing compelling proof strategies, and establishing robust feedback loops that inform product development and market positioning. Furthermore, you will be tasked with driving the growth and effectiveness of our technical partnership ecosystem. This includes deepening relationships with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), and channel partners, ensuring seamless integration and expanded reach for CloudZero's solutions.
  • • Beyond technical and operational leadership, you will serve as a cultural leader and multiplier within the GTM team. You will embody and promote excellence, accountability, and empathy in all interactions, setting a high standard for team performance and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. Your strategic vision and hands-on approach will be critical in ensuring that CloudZero's technical pre-sales function is not just a support mechanism, but a strategic driver of business success and customer satisfaction. 🎯 Requirements

  • • 10+ years of progressive experience in Sales Engineering or Technical Pre-Sales roles, with a proven track record of success.
  • • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership capacity, managing and developing technical teams.
  • • Demonstrated success in leading SE teams within high-growth B2B SaaS environments, with a strong preference for experience in Cloud, DevOps, or FinOps sectors.
  • • Deep understanding of major cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and the ability to engage credibly with technical buyers and users at all levels.
  • • Strong operational rigor, including experience in measuring impact, forecasting SE coverage, and designing scalable programs.
  • • A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset with a passion for developing talent and fostering clarity within a team.
