đź“‹ Description

  • • Senior Manager, Wholesale Carrier Partnerships North America at Semtech Corporation is a strategic leadership role focused on safeguarding and expanding the company’s wholesale carrier relationships across the United States and Canada. This position is critical to maintaining Semtech’s competitive edge in the IoT connectivity market by ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and scalable partnerships that directly support product go-to-market strategies and long-term revenue growth.
  • • The role involves deep engagement with major telecommunications carriers to negotiate rate plans, optimize carrier costs, manage invoicing controls, and ensure adherence to ISO certification standards. The incumbent will act as the primary commercial liaison between Semtech’s product, R&D, finance, and sales teams, translating technical capabilities into viable wholesale agreements while aligning partnership strategies with broader business objectives.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include managing daily carrier relationships, leading rate plan negotiations, optimizing carrier cost structures, utilizing carrier tools for performance tracking, and generating detailed reports for Finance and Product teams on actuals and forecasts. The manager ensures ISO audit readiness by facilitating compliance requirements across North American wholesale operations.
  • • A core function is collaborating with the Director to design and refine strategic carrier pricing models grounded in deep knowledge of the U.S. telecommunications landscape. This includes aligning connectivity solutions with wholesale reselling agreements and network infrastructure constraints, coordinating with product and R&D teams for seamless implementation, and owning end-to-end commercial relationships with partners.
  • • The role drives proactive carrier engagement strategies to meet evolving business needs, including scouting for new partners that align with short-, mid-, and long-term IoT service goals. The manager builds internal forecasts and trend analyses by synthesizing inputs from product, sales, and R&D teams to inform strategic decision-making.
  • • Additional duties involve negotiating commercial and contractual agreements, monitoring partnership performance indicators, leading monthly and quarterly business reviews, and serving as the internal expert on regulatory matters and global technology trends impacting Semtech’s IoT services.
  • • The incumbent acts as an ambassador for partners, ensuring clear and consistent internal and external messaging, fostering healthy relationships, and representing Semtech’s interests in all partner interactions. This role demands high initiative, adaptability, and resilience in ambiguous environments where data may be incomplete and decisions require sound judgment.
  • • Success in this role offers the opportunity to shape Semtech’s wholesale strategy in North America, develop expertise in IoT carrier economics and regulatory frameworks, and gain visibility across executive stakeholders. The manager will build advanced negotiation, cross-functional leadership, and strategic planning skills while contributing directly to the company’s market positioning and profitability in a high-growth IoT sector.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 7+ years of commercial experience in the telecommunications industry
  • • Proven wholesale experience in agreement negotiations and cost management
  • • Demonstrated knowledge of IoT/M2M services including data, voice, and SMS
  • • Experience managing complex negotiations in multicultural environments
  • • Strong verbal and written communication skills, active listening, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
  • • Comfort working with ambiguous data and crafting decisions based on imperfect information

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to lead strategic carrier partnerships that directly impact Semtech’s IoT market position
  • • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with product, R&D, finance, and sales teams
  • • Professional growth in negotiation, strategic planning, and IoT business modeling
  • • Remote work flexibility based in Atlanta, GA
  • • Engagement with global technology trends and regulatory landscapes in telecommunications
