- • The Senior Payroll Associate at Deel plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for a globally distributed workforce, directly supporting the company’s mission to unlock global opportunity by guaranteeing workers are paid correctly and protected under local regulations across 150+ countries.
- • This role combines deep technical payroll expertise with leadership responsibilities, as the incumbent will oversee end-to-end payroll operations, mentor junior team members, and drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and compliance in a fast-scaling, high-impact SaaS environment.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing the processing of payroll data for employees across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring all calculations for salaries, hours worked, bonuses, and deductions are accurate and compliant with local laws.
- • The associate will maintain precise and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, tax details, and benefits enrollments, serving as a single source of truth for payroll and HRIS systems.
- • A core function involves verifying and reconciling employee data inputs from various sources, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues related to time tracking, deductions, garnishments, and statutory contributions before payroll finalization.
- • The role includes assisting with payroll tax calculations, preparing documentation for filings, and ensuring timely submission of statutory reports in coordination with finance and legal teams to maintain regulatory compliance.
- • Providing first-line support to employees and managers for payroll-related inquiries—such as payslip questions, tax adjustments, or payment delays—is essential, requiring clear communication and empathy to build trust and resolve issues efficiently.
- • Ensuring ongoing compliance with evolving payroll laws, social security regulations, and reporting requirements across multiple countries is a continuous responsibility, demanding vigilance and proactive monitoring of legislative changes.
- • The Senior Payroll Associate will lead the implementation of new payroll processes, system upgrades, or integrations (e.g., with Deel’s proprietary payroll engine or third-party platforms), testing changes, training stakeholders, and minimizing disruption during transitions.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution
- • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multi-jurisdictional or global environment
- • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and statutory reporting requirements across multiple countries
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to support employees and collaborate across teams
- • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and guide junior team members in a collaborative setting
