- • The Senior Payroll Associate at Deel plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for Maltese employees, directly supporting the company’s mission to enable seamless global employment. This position is vital to maintaining trust and operational integrity as Deel scales its payroll infrastructure across 150+ countries, making it a cornerstone of the employee experience.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing end-to-end payroll processing for Maltese employees, maintaining precise and up-to-date employee records, verifying and reconciling salary, hours, and deduction data, assisting with Maltese payroll tax calculations and statutory filings, providing responsive support to employees on payroll inquiries, ensuring full compliance with local labor and tax regulations, and leading the design and implementation of process improvements and system upgrades to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- • The Payroll team at Deel operates within a globally distributed, high-growth SaaS environment where innovation meets rigorous compliance standards. As part of a 7,000-person team spanning 100+ countries, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional experts in HR, legal, finance, and engineering to refine global payroll workflows while contributing to a culture of continuous learning, transparency, and inclusion.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution
- • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Maltese payroll processing or a closely related payroll/administrative role
- • Strong working knowledge of Maltese payroll laws, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
- • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills in high-volume environments
- • Proven ability to communicate clearly and build trust with employees and stakeholders
- • Demonstrated capability to guide, mentor, and support junior team members
