- • Senior Permitting & Plan Review Expert (Contract) at BrainCo Inc., a remote role supporting AI-driven modernization of government permitting systems by serving as a domain expert for engineering, product, design, data, and go-to-market teams.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include answering nuanced permitting and code interpretation questions, reviewing permit applications and AI outputs for correctness and completeness, labeling data to train ML systems, synthesizing jurisdiction-specific requirements into internal guidance, and creating review rubrics, checklists, and benchmark examples.
- • BrainCo Inc. is an applied AI startup co-founded by Jared Kushner and Elad Gil, backed by Silicon Valley leaders, focused on deploying AI in high-impact sectors like government, healthcare, and critical infrastructure, with proven results in automating permitting, optimizing supply chains, and streamlining hospital care.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI-assisted permitting workflows, influence product design with real-world reviewer insights, and help scale AI solutions that unlock efficiency and value in public sector institutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of hands-on experience in permitting, plan review, plans examination, private provider, building official, or code consulting
- • Strong understanding of building codes and their practical application across jurisdictions
- • Ability to explain technical code and permitting issues clearly to engineers, product managers, and non-experts
- • Experience reviewing permit applications, construction documents, plan sets, or submittal packages
- • Comfort reviewing AI/software-generated outputs and providing specific, actionable feedback
- • Strong written communication and documentation skills
