📋 Description

• As a Senior Platform Engineer at Apollo GraphQL, you will be a key contributor to the Platform Engineering team, responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Apollo’s distributed systems and infrastructure.
• Day to day, you will design and implement technical solutions using Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, and CI/CD pipelines; improve developer velocity and system reliability through SLOs and observability; participate in on-call rotations; create technical documentation; and collaborate across teams to drive operational excellence.
• You’ll join a talented, humble, and forward-thinking Platform Engineering team that values automation, code efficiency, and mindfulness, working on critical subsystems that power Apollo’s GraphQL platform.
• In this role, you’ll deepen your expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, SRE practices, and distributed systems while leading impactful initiatives that enhance system reliability, security, and developer experience across the organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Systems expertise with stateless/fault tolerant systems and familiarity with eventing patterns and distributed paradigms
• Experience leveraging agentic tooling to enhance daily work and detect/mitigate production issues
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, GCP (AWS or Azure acceptable), and Terraform
