- ⢠Architect and own the evolution of i3D Kubernetes Service (IKS), our self-hosted, bare-metal Kubernetes platform that spans 40+ global data-centres. You will design control-plane topologies, optimise etcd performance, and implement zero-downtime cluster upgrades that keep millions of concurrent gamers connected.
- ⢠Build rock-solid automation for everything from PXE-booting fresh bare-metal nodes to rolling out CNI, CSI and Ingress controllers. You will codify the entire lifecycle in Ansible, Terraform and GitLab pipelines so that a new PoP can be production-ready in under 30 minutes.
- ⢠Create and maintain GitOps-driven CI/CD workflows that deliver containerised game services, web APIs and middleware to dev, staging and prod with full canary, blue/green and rollback capabilities. Your pipelines will gate on security scans, performance benchmarks and chaos-tests before any change reaches players.
- ⢠Instrument the platform with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and OpenSearch to provide real-time visibility into latency, packet-loss, CPU steal and custom game-server metrics. You will define SLIs/SLOs and build automated runbooks that page the right people with actionable context.
- ⢠Harden multi-tenant isolation, NetworkPolicies, PodSecurityPolicies and OPA/Gatekeeper rules to satisfy both internal security teams and external auditors. You will lead threat-model sessions and ensure every cluster meets SOC 2, ISO 27001 and upcoming DORA requirements.
- ⢠Optimise the data-path: tune Cilium eBPF routing, benchmark Calico vs Cilium performance, and squeeze the last micro-second of latency out of kernel bypass technologies. Your work directly translates to a competitive edge for AAA titles and real-time voice platforms.
- ⢠Collaborate with game-dev, network, SRE and product teams to translate business OKRs into technical epics. You will present architecture decisions in RFCs, run blameless post-mortems and champion a âyou build it, you run itâ culture.
- ⢠Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pair-programming, brown-bag sessions and formal career-development plans. You will establish coding standards, drive adoption of Test-Driven Development in Golang operators, and create a knowledge base that outlives any single person.
- ⢠Contribute to open-source projects (e.g., Kubernetes SIGs, Cilium, Argo CD) and represent i3D.net at meet-ups and conferences, reinforcing our reputation as a thought leader in low-latency, high-scale infrastructure.
- ⢠Own the 12-month roadmap for IKS-as-a-product: define pricing models, self-service portals, SLA tiers and feature flags that will let external studios deploy their own clusters on our metal with the same quality and speed we enjoy internally.
