- • Own the complete design lifecycle for JioHotstar’s flagship products across TV, web and mobile—turning complex viewer needs into elegant, scalable experiences that delight 750 million weekly users.
- • Translate product strategy into actionable design briefs: partner with product managers to re-frame ambiguous problems, craft measurable success criteria, and build a clear, phased execution roadmap that balances user value with business impact.
- • Lead cross-functional pods of engineers, data scientists, and content strategists from early discovery through pixel-perfect delivery—running workshops, sketching user flows, producing wireframes, and shipping interactive prototypes that reduce risk and accelerate iteration.
- • Champion evidence-based design by orchestrating studies with the UX Research team and mining behavioural analytics from the Data Science group; synthesise findings into actionable insights that shape navigation patterns, feature prioritisation, and personalisation algorithms.
- • Establish and evolve JioHotstar’s design language across platforms—defining reusable components, motion principles, and accessibility standards that ensure consistency while respecting the unique constraints of 10-foot TV interfaces, responsive web, and handheld mobile contexts.
- • Mentor mid-level and junior designers through formal critiques and informal coaching, raising the bar for craft quality, storytelling, and stakeholder communication across the 30-person Design org.
- • Drive clarity in high-stakes executive reviews—presenting design rationale, trade-offs, and KPI impact to VPs and C-suite leaders, securing buy-in and resources for bold, user-centric bets.
- • Operate with an entrepreneurial spirit: identify unmet viewer needs, prototype bold concepts in Figma or Principle, run lean A/B tests, and pivot quickly based on real-world performance data.
- • Maintain obsessive attention to detail—auditing every micro-interaction, loading state, and edge case—while simultaneously zooming out to ensure coherent end-to-end journeys across live sports, premium series, and regional cinema.
- • Contribute to JioStar’s culture of inclusion by facilitating design sprints that amplify diverse voices, ensuring our products resonate with audiences spanning Tier-1 metros to rural India and global diasporas.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–7 years of hands-on product design experience shipping consumer-facing features on mobile, web, and ideally 10-foot TV platforms.
- • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership—from early research and ideation to final UI and measurable post-launch impact.
- • Deep fluency in Figma, Principle, or equivalent tools, plus working knowledge of HTML/CSS and native mobile constraints.
- • Proven ability to frame ambiguous problems, define success metrics, and lead complex projects independently under tight deadlines.
- • Exceptional storytelling and stakeholder-management skills; comfortable presenting to executives and negotiating trade-offs with engineering.
