• • Shape the future of autonomous mobility by designing the AI-powered operations tools that keep Zoox’s fleet running safely, cleanly, and efficiently every minute of every day. Your work will directly influence how remote operators, field technicians, and command-center staff interact with complex AI systems in real time.
• • Own the end-to-end design lifecycle for high-stakes web applications used in mission-critical operations—discovery, user journeys, wireframes, pixel-perfect UI, rapid prototyping, usability testing, and iterative refinement—while balancing speed, craft, and business impact.
• • Embed deeply with cross-functional squads of product managers, engineers, data scientists, researchers, and fellow designers to translate thorny operational problems into elegant, accessible, and intuitive product experiences.
• • Drive product strategy and roadmap decisions by synthesizing user insights, operational telemetry, and market trends into clear, persuasive narratives that inspire and align executive stakeholders across Zoox and Amazon.
• • Champion inclusive design and WCAG standards, ensuring every interface you ship is usable by the diverse people who keep our vehicles safe on the road—day or night, rain or shine, with varying levels of technical fluency.
• • Evolve and maintain Zoox’s design systems and interaction principles, raising the bar for visual polish, motion, and micro-interactions across all internal and external surfaces—from command-center dashboards to handheld tablets in the field.
• • Rapidly prototype and test new AI-driven features—such as predictive maintenance alerts, anomaly detection workflows, and human-in-the-loop overrides—using Figma, code, or whatever medium gets feedback fastest.
• • Mentor and elevate the craft of more junior designers, while actively seeking feedback to sharpen your own skills in a culture that prizes psychological safety and continuous learning.
• • Translate complex data streams (vehicle telemetry, mapping, traffic, weather) into clear, actionable visualizations that empower operators to make split-second decisions with confidence.
