- • Own the end-to-end design vision for DoorDash’s Consumer Merchandising experience, shaping how millions of users discover, evaluate, and purchase everyday essentials—from groceries to household goods—through a seamless, mobile-first interface.
- • Lead high-impact design sprints that translate complex merchandising strategies into intuitive product flows, balancing business goals (conversion, basket size, retention) with user delight and accessibility standards.
- • Partner daily with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Merchandising teams to craft data-driven experiments—A/B tests, multivariate tests, and rapid prototypes—that validate hypotheses and iterate on pricing, promotions, bundles, and personalized recommendations.

- • Champion user research across diverse demographics—urban, suburban, rural, low- and high-income households—translating insights into inclusive designs that reduce friction for first-time shoppers and power users alike.

- • Travel up to 10% annually for merchant visits, user shadowing, and cross-functional off-sites, gathering ground-level insights that fuel innovation and strengthen partnerships with local grocers and national CPG brands.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of consumer-facing product design experience, with at least 2 years focused on e-commerce, marketplace, or merchandising flows.
- • Expert-level proficiency in Figma, Principle, or equivalent tools for high-fidelity prototyping and design-system management.
- • Demonstrated ability to run quantitative and qualitative research—SQL fluency to pull experiment data plus moderated user interviews.
- • Portfolio showcasing measurable impact on conversion, retention, or average order value through A/B-tested design solutions.
- • Nice-to-have: experience designing for three-sided marketplaces (consumer, merchant, dasher) and familiarity with accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1+).
🏖️ Benefits
- • Flexible remote-first culture with quarterly team off-sites and a $500 annual stipend for home-office upgrades.
- • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents, plus gradual return-to-work schedule and coaching support.
- • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage effective day one, with 100% employer-paid premiums for employees and 75% for dependents.
- • Annual equity refresh grants and a 401(k) plan with 4% employer match, vesting immediately.
