Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for Montrose’s environmental SaaS portfolio, translating complex air-quality and LDAR data into intuitive, high-impact software that helps industrial clients reduce emissions and stay ahead of evolving regulations.
  • • Drive the strategic unification of two existing platforms into a single, next-generation solution that combines real-time telemetry, predictive analytics, and mobile field workflows—delivering a 10x improvement in user experience and measurable reductions in fugitive emissions.
  • • Build and socialize a multi-year product roadmap that balances visionary bets (AI-driven anomaly detection, automated compliance reporting) with near-term customer commitments, ensuring every engineering sprint maps directly to revenue growth, retention, and ESG impact.
  • • Conduct rigorous market and competitive intelligence—interviewing operators, regulators, and technology partners—to uncover unmet needs, whitespace opportunities, and pricing models that position Montrose as the category-defining leader in environmental software.
  • • Translate field observations and VOC sensor data into crisp user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable KPIs; maintain a laser-focused backlog that empowers engineering squads to ship high-quality releases on a predictable cadence.
  • • Champion customer empathy through quarterly site visits, user-testing sessions, and advisory-board workshops, turning frontline feedback into product enhancements that boost NPS and reduce churn.
  • • Define and track success metrics—feature adoption, ARR, gross-margin expansion, and carbon-reduction equivalents—and present actionable insights to executive leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders at industry conferences.
  • • Craft compelling product narratives, ROI calculators, and demo scripts that enable Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to win six- and seven-figure enterprise deals and accelerate land-and-expand motions.
  • • Collaborate cross-functionally with environmental scientists, regulatory experts, data engineers, UX designers, and field technicians to ensure every screen, alert, and report meets both scientific rigor and user delight.
  • • Act as the voice of the customer during sprint reviews, go/no-go launches, and post-release retrospectives—instilling a culture of continuous improvement and fearless experimentation across a 3,500-person global organization.
  • • Mentor junior product managers and analysts, sharing best practices in discovery frameworks, experimentation design, and stakeholder communication to scale the product function as Montrose’s software revenue triples over the next five years.
  • • Stay ahead of emerging regulations (EPA OOOO/OOOOa, state-level methane rules, EU Fit-for-55) and translate compliance deadlines into product requirements that turn regulatory pressure into competitive advantage for our clients.
  • • Evangelize Montrose’s environmental mission internally and externally—whether presenting at Air & Waste Management conferences, publishing thought-leadership pieces, or hosting webinars that educate the market on the future of emissions management software.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 15–20 years of hands-on product management or product-owner experience, with a demonstrable record of shipping B2B SaaS solutions from zero to scale.
  • • Proven ability to define, build, and launch software products that have generated ≥ $10 M ARR or equivalent business impact.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering, computer science, environmental science, or related field); advanced degree preferred.
  • • Deep familiarity with agile development, OKRs, and data-driven decision-making; comfort working with SQL, telemetry APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
  • • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—equally adept at white-boarding with engineers, negotiating with executives, and presenting to Fortune 500 clients.
  • • Startup or high-growth scale-up experience strongly preferred; must thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and maintain customer-centricity under pressure.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive annual salary of $150,000–$200,000 plus performance bonus, commensurate with experience and geography.
  • • Company-paid life, short- and long-term disability insurance, and a 401(k)/RRSP with generous match to secure your financial future.
  • • Progressive vacation policy, floating holidays, and paid parental leave so you can recharge and prioritize what matters most.
  • • Educational reimbursement, student-loan refinancing at industry-best rates, and an employee financial-assistance program to support lifelong learning and unforeseen needs.
