- • Own the evolution of Kin’s core platform that powers policy administration, billing, and payment systems, defining multi-year strategy and roadmap to align with business growth objectives
- • Serve as the primary product voice for the platform, aligning engineering, architecture, and senior leadership on priorities, trade-offs, and technical direction with clarity and authority
- • Lead discovery on complex, ambiguous platform challenges by defining the right problems before solutions, grounding decisions in data, user research, and measurable business impact
- • Define, document, and evangelize API standards for internal and external consumers, ensuring reliable, versioned, and scalable interfaces that enable rapid innovation without system disruption
- • Drive end-to-end delivery of platform initiatives from prototype to production in close partnership with engineering, data, and design teams, ensuring technical feasibility and user-centric outcomes
- • Write comprehensive product specifications and user stories that provide engineering teams with clear context, acceptance criteria, and technical guardrails to build with confidence
- • Establish, own, and communicate platform success metrics across the organization, using data to inform roadmap decisions and demonstrate impact to stakeholders
- • Mentor and elevate other product managers on the team by modeling rigor, intellectual curiosity, and collaborative leadership in product execution
- • Manage key vendor relationships with payment processors, policy administration systems, and third-party data providers, ensuring contracts and integrations support long-term platform goals
- • Lead platform modernization and re-platforming initiatives, sequencing migrations to avoid disruption to dependent teams while improving reliability, scalability, and security
- • Translate regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services and insurance into product requirements that ensure platform adherence without stifling innovation
- • Act as a thought partner to engineering and business leadership during a critical growth phase where platform stability is foundational to Kin’s continued expansion
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 7 years in software product management
- • Proven ownership of platform or infrastructure products at a Fintech, Insurtech, or regulated financial services company
- • Experience leading platform modernization or re-platforming initiatives, including sequencing migrations without disrupting dependent teams
- • Technical fluency sufficient to hold architecture conversations and understand downstream implications of platform decisions on reliability, scalability, and security
- • Vendor management experience with payment processors, policy administration vendors, or third-party data providers
- • Written and verbal communication skills calibrated for both technical and executive audiences
