- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will own the messaging, positioning, and sales narrative for the side of Astro where trust gets built.
- • This is a high-craft, high-impact role, that reports directly into marketing leadership.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will work directly with product leadership, marketing, and sales to translate complex technical capabilities into content that actually moves deals and earns practitioner credibility.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will join a small, senior product marketing team where ownership is divided across Astro's portfolio.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will have a defined lane of their own and coordinate with the rest of the team on cross-cutting work like competitive intelligence, solutions-level narratives and event support.
- • Ownership here is real, but not rigid, as product investment shifts, coverage across the team may evolve.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for messaging and positioning, competitive intelligence, sales enablement, product launches, and practitioner and economic buyer narrative.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will create the messaging architecture, category-level positioning, and feature-level guides for their area, and the story that connects it.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will develop and maintain competitive battlecards, informed by win/loss analysis and real deal signals, that give sales what they need to win in the field.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will educate sales on the narrative and equip them to sell it through elevator pitches, objection handling, and practitioner and economic buyer decks that hold up in the room.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will execute the GTM motion for launches in their area and define what success looks like at each stage, from early access through general availability, social-first and momentum-driven rather than one-size-fits-all.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will produce content that speaks with credibility to skeptical data engineers and resonates just as strongly with the CIOs and VPs of Data betting on AI infrastructure.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will bring 5+ years in product marketing, with at least 2 in a technical B2B SaaS or infrastructure company.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will be a self-starter who can identify and prioritize their own work with little oversight.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will have experience marketing to both technical practitioners (data engineers, platform engineers) and economic buyers (VP/Dir of Data, CTO).
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will have experience with competitive positioning: building battlecards, conducting win/loss analysis, synthesizing signals from sales and market data.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will be comfortable working cross-functionally with product, sales, and demand gen; ability to influence without authority.
- • The Senior Product Marketing Manager will be able to make the complex simple without making it wrong.
- • Bonus points if the Senior Product Marketing Manager has a background in data infrastructure, developer tooling, or cloud/platform products.
- • Bonus points if the Senior Product Marketing Manager has familiarity with Apache Airflow, dbt, Databricks, Snowflake.
- • Bonus points if the Senior Product Marketing Manager has an understanding of the dynamics between an open-source project and the commercial company built around it.
