• • As a Senior QE Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in upholding and elevating the quality of our cutting-edge POS software. Working under general supervision and adhering to established quality assurance procedures, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test strategies. Your responsibilities will span the entire quality lifecycle, from meticulous test case creation and execution to ongoing maintenance, ensuring that our software consistently meets and exceeds stringent quality control standards. • • Key responsibilities include:
• • Collaborating closely with the Scrum team throughout the software development lifecycle, providing constant, constructive feedback to ensure the highest quality of the final product. This involves active participation in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, fostering a culture of shared quality ownership.
• • Designing sophisticated test strategies and detailed test cases for complex POS systems. This includes developing comprehensive plans for various testing types, such as functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, performance, and scalability testing.
• • Executing a wide range of testing activities across diverse platforms, including desktop, web, and potentially mobile applications, to identify defects and ensure optimal user experience.
• • Creating, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts using industry-leading frameworks and tools. This is crucial for ensuring efficient and repeatable testing processes, especially for regression suites.
• • Conducting thorough system testing to validate that all components of the POS software function as intended and integrate seamlessly with other systems.
• • Performing in-depth regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not negatively impact existing functionality, maintaining the stability and reliability of the software.
• • Engaging in performance and scalability testing to guarantee that the POS system can handle high volumes of transactions and user loads, particularly during peak operational hours for our restaurant clients.
• • Investigating, documenting, and reporting defects with clear, concise details, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual outcomes, facilitating swift resolution by the development team.
• • Working with modern architectural patterns, including microservices and modern monoliths, understanding the unique testing challenges and strategies associated with each.
• • Performing API testing to validate the functionality, reliability, and performance of our application programming interfaces, ensuring seamless data exchange between different services and systems.
• • Utilizing version control systems, such as Git, to manage test scripts and ensure code integrity and collaboration within the QE team.
• • Gaining familiarity with cloud infrastructure environments like AWS or Azure, understanding how our software is deployed and operates in these settings.
• • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our QA processes, tools, and methodologies, staying abreast of the latest trends and best practices in software quality assurance.
• • Participating in the review of technical designs and requirements to provide early feedback on testability and potential quality risks.
• • Ensuring that security testing best practices are considered and implemented, identifying potential vulnerabilities and ensuring the protection of sensitive restaurant and customer data.
• • Supporting the deployment process by ensuring that all quality gates are met before releases, contributing to a smooth and reliable CI/CD pipeline.
• • Mentoring junior QE engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster team growth and development.
